who couldn’t grasp the bigger picture.
    1) as Francis stated, the debt ceiling has to be raised, there simply is no economic alternative to that.
    2) giving Obama a “clean-bill” like every other president has gotten would have allowed us free reign to go after him for the debt without tainting ourselves like we have now
    3) we never had a good negotiating position anyways, as everyone knew that at some point we HAD to pass a raise that would get through the Senate/WH
    4) this is simply an unforced error that could easily hurt us in 2012 for no real gain as it may make us co-own this economy.

Firstly, you are establishing yourself on RS as a closet leftist whose aggressive name (Death of the Donkey) simply serves to hide your liberal tendencies. Secondly, the Tea Party is the only sane grouping left in DC, the only set of individuals who are actively working to prevent the next generation from labouring under the chains of high taxation, to prevent America from becoming the laughing stock of the world because of it’s imploding debt.

    So please check your facts.

and was I a lefty back pre-tea party when I was one of the few here complaining about deficits? Just because I understand the negative economic ramifications of cutting spending immediately and want to do it over time doesn’t make me a lefty, it makes me someone who cares about the economy.

Also, please explain to me how tea party rigidity on the debt ceiling is going to do anything other that potential cause us to have a self-inflicted recession and become the laughingstock of the world?
