On today’s edition of Coffee and Markets, Pejman Yousefzadeh and Kevin Holtsberry are joined by Daveed Gartenstein-Ross to talk about his book Bin Laden’s Legacy: Why We’re Still Losing the War on Terror. We’ll discuss how al Qaeda has been working to deplete American resources, forced us to implement non-strategic counterterrorism policies both at home and abroad, and the rope-a-dope strategy they have employed against the United States.

We’re brought to you as always by BigGovernment and Stephen Clouse and Associates. If you’d like to email us, you can do so at coffee[at]newledger.com. We hope you enjoy the show.

Wrong way of looking at it, sir.

Terrorism is a political strategy that incorporates the use of bombs and hijackings and all the other tools of the trade that terrorists use to affect political change in their target country. The PLO, al-Qaeda,Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, and the rest have not changed politically but the US has.

    TSA
You mention the TSA and their heavy-handed and incompetent ways. This agency fights “terrorism” by harrassing elderly and senile women and checking children’s diapers. The gorilla in the room is that the 800 pound gorilla is siting on the 4th amendment. The terrorist have persuaded US citizens to give up their Bill of Rights!

    Terrorists- 1 Americans- 0

The entire idea is to misallocate funds to keep the war on terrorism going and to build a bureaucracy. The more incompetent the bureaucrats the better since the search for terrorists will be a never-ending journey. Along the way the entire politcal structure that was once in place to protect individual freedom will wither away toward the declared goals of the terror leaders and of their state sponsors. Those goals have always been to change the political system from one of freedom to one opposite of freedom similar in many respects to the governments that the terrorists themselves come from.

Terrorism is a global movement and it is well-organized and funded. It’s has the capabillity to extract money from their target countires via foreign aid and their ultimate state sponsors China and Russia are given a pass by the Mainstream.
Write a book about that and you’ll be given the cold shoulder by the MSM but you will be exposing terrorism’s roots and their real strategy and tactics.
