Well, Obama, Are You Gonna Pull Those Pistols or Whistle Dixie?

Notice the top of his boot: Gonzales cannon with: “Come and Take It”

Monday, Texas Governor Rick Perry will meet briefly with President Obama in Austin

Oh, no-no-no, Mr. Rick Perry. Do you really think you can beat me and the whole federal government? It can’t be done. My big government agencies are trained on you already. We will ride you down and run all over Texas. We will freeze your purse and starve you out.

Well, Mr. President, we got something down here called the Texas line in the sand. I’m drawing the line now, against all odds, just like Travis did in ’36. That’d be 1836, the year of our triumph over another pretender who to came to ride down Texas.

We honor our history and our heroes in Texas. We know what it is to be an underdog. We enjoy a good fight and all the more when we know we are right. The memory of Gonzales lives within us and we still say, “come and take it.” If you can.

Now, you trot on back to your handlers. Tell them we won’t be told in Texas. You will not shutter our industries. You won’t control us over the air we breathe. We’ll run our own budget and our schools, with or without your leave.

You have singled us out and threatened us. In so doing, you have called down the thunder from the millions of conservative Texans and you know it; we are game roosters. You have trifled with a people whose forefathers came from the back-alleys and every low place, seeking escape from being told and being caught. We prefer to be left alone but you will not leave us alone.

You’ve come for us to destroy our “Gone to Texas” culture. Alright then, it is our honor and our legacy against your thin skinned ignorance. What are the odds? So bring it, that there may be an end to it.

Texas will beat you in the courts and beat you at the ballot box. We will not comply with your demands that we give over to the federal government that not enumerated in the Constitution. We don’t care what you and your friends think in Washington DC, or New York or Brussels. We are neither serfs nor vassals to city-states thousands of miles away.

We refudiate your statism and your handlers. And you know what refudiate means as well as you know our northern sister’s penchant for calling you out. Seems “Gone to Texas” and “North to Alaska” are much the same.

There’s a lot of barbed wire between DC and Dallas. It’s a very long way; a leap of a thousand cultural light years. That’s right you arrogant, mocking poser. Texas spits on your agenda. We spit on your czars. We spit on your unnatural law.

What are you going to do about it Mr. President? If you were smart, you’d whistle Dixie but I’m betting you will sing a different tune. It’s not because you have cajones but because you think you are chosen. So pull those pistols if you dare, but when you do El Deguello is for you.

Those who had once simpered: “I don’t want to destroy the rich, I only want to seize a little of their surplus to help the poor, just a little, they’ll never miss it!” – then, later, had snapped: “The tycoons can stand being squeezed; they’ve amassed enough to last them for three generations” – then, later, had yelled: “Why should the people suffer while businessmen have reserves to last a year?” – now were screaming: “Why should we starve while some people have reserves to last a week?” – Atlas Shrugged

The thought of our Dictator In Training Pants holding firearms is as laughable as it is dangerous.

He’s being insulated as much as possible from everything, except what’s being done via executive order.

We’re at the true tipping point, with two fulcrums: The first being the November elections and the second will be the instant one of the five Constitutional SCOTUS justices retires (or has an unfortunate accident that sometimes happens to people in a government out of control).

That line was for you, Kenny ! -nt

I feel for Obama – come into Texas and try to push your ultra-liberal socialist policies… we have guns, we have oil/gas, cattle, farms, but most of all, we have people. We have people who don’t mind carrying or firing a gun, who are use to work and know what going without is, we have control over how many of your military bases complete with weaponry – and honey – those soldiers are on our side – just like every other self respecting soldier would be.

We can secede and make it.

Heck – we already have an embassy in France! LOL!

Not even common sense, has the 0

cactusjack Sunday, August 8th at 7:35PM EDT (link)

As I drive home from work every day here in TX , I have been keeping an unofficial tally of the number of out of state license plates and U-Hauls I see on the road every day. To be sure it is way more than casual tourism, or of a few years ago. That number is steady and increasing. Lots of California, plus Ohio, Michigan ,Florida, even Hawaii. Doesnt take a genius to figure out what this is – people who havent gotten to the DPS (DMV) yet to switch tags to their new home state – where their new job is. I have been unemployed and know what it felt like. I often say a quick prayer of thanks that these folks, after they lost their job up north or out west, found a job – especially if they have a spouse and kids I thank God. The heat and mosquitos lack of a rocky mountain line (except in El Paso) will be a sacrifice but they have a job, and most of them will stay. Their children will grow up, will learn the Alamo story of giving all for freedom, will say the pledge to the US flag and Texas flag, and yes it isnt Pittsburgh to you if you came from there, but in the end you’ll be OK. You would think Obama would be glad in 9.5% unemplyment, there is one part of the country working right and providing jobs – the great commonwealth of States working like they’re supposed to, balancing out highs and lows and industry changes. But no they play the politics of jealousy and destruction: “Texanum delenda est!” Not even any common sense, have they, let alone wisdom, or gratitude.

Yes

edintexas Tuesday, August 10th at 8:42AM EDT (link)

However, “people who havent gotten to the DPS (DMV) yet” for their new driver’s license, and the County Tax Assessor/Collector for their new vehicle registration and tags, aren’t getting off to a very good start. I’ve noticed people with out of state tags through the entire last school year (taking and picking up their children). I can appreciate not wanting to waste the pre-paid registration fees, but violating the laws of your new state is not a great way to get started. Of course I can only suspect they also haven’t obtained a new Driver’s License if they haven’t replaced their auto tags.

Let’s hope they don’t turn out like some of those refugees from the 80′s “Rust Belt” jobs meltdown. After a while there were some complaining that Texas (state, county or city) didn’t “do for them” whatever it was that (name your Rust Belt location) “did for them”. I have noticed that there has been a significant change in the Texas attitude toward individual responsibility. This may be because I’m only 50 miles away from Dallas (almost a “bedroom community” by Texas standards), but I worry that the state’s personality is changing significantly. Then again I’m from a generation which grew up conducting business on a handshake. Those days are mostly gone even in rural areas.

Obama STILL hasn't learned: Don't.Mess.With.Texas.

Teresa in Fort Worth, TX (Diary) Sunday, August 8th at 8:36PM EDT (link)

And I guess he never heard that old cowboy phrase referring to the earliest days of our Republic: “Texas was Heaven for Men and Cattle, but Hell on Women and Horses.”

ANYONE who has met us Texas gals knows that we are made of VERY strong stuff. And you don’t mess with those we love. It takes some truly special menfolk to “tame” us, and when they do….. buddy, you have got a hell of a team to go up against.

The state is FULL of these men and women, who are many times – like my husband and me – 5th and 6th generation Texans. This spirit runs deep in us, and it is passed along to our children and our grandchildren. And those who move here very quickly become proud citizens of this State.

So by all means, Mr. President, come on down to Texas. Our mommas raised us right, so you will be treated with respect – despite the fact that you are unwilling to treat us with anything other than the basest contempt. And you will be shown the finest hospitality in the world, because that’s how we treat ALL of our guests.

But you’d best know what you are walking in on. And you’d do well to understand this:

We.Will.Not.Back.Down.

Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride…..

There is an unwritten rule about Texas:

cactusjack Sunday, August 8th at 8:50PM EDT (link)

whoever you are, if you could go there and stand it (heat, Comanches, Apaches, hurricanse, tornados, Mexican dictators, etc. etc) and stand your ground, you would be accorded respect. The place was never prejudiced like the MSM wants to portray. The above unwritten rule is why among other groups, the Strong Woman has survived and thrived in Texas. If you want to understand this better, see the story of Jane Long – the Mother of Texas. She (literally) kept the flag flying at the fort by herself. We owe to Susannah Dickinson’s cool courage in Santa Anna’s deadly presence, that we know thestory of the Alamo. Don’t Mess with Texas (Women).

Comrade Obama will never see either of you nor anybody like you.

The Romans had the good sense that whenever they granted a general or emperor a triumphal parade, they put a slave on the chariot behind him to whisper in his ear, “Remember, you are mortal.” Nobody is telling Comrade Obama that he is mortal.

In Vino Veritas

I never expected him to - he just needs to understand the character of the people of this State.

“The president’s just using Texas for an ATM machine,” said Texas Sen. John Cornyn, who heads the Republicans’ Senate campaign push nationally. “People need to recognize it for what it is.”

After an event focused on higher education at the University of Texas at Austin, Obama will fly to Dallas for a dinner at the Highland Park home of plaintiffs’ lawyer Russell Budd.

That’s just a few miles from the Preston Hollow home of his predecessor, whom Obama routinely invokes to warn voters away from Republicans in November.

Russell Budd is an ambulance chaser.

http://baronandbudd.com/attorney_profiles/russell_w_budd

Budd, a shareholder of Baron & Budd since 1985 and president and managing shareholder since 2002, has expanded the firm from its cornerstone asbestos practice to a national firm capable of tackling the biggest defendants in areas as diverse as water contamination, qui tam, California Proposition 65 violations, pharmaceutical injuries, chinese drywall, insurance claims and securities fraud. Most recently, the firm has begun to represent individuals and businesses that have been affected by the Gulf Oil Spill.

Hey, when you have to play OU every year, you get tough or get beat.

Obama ought to go down to Crawford and let GWB give him a chain saw and point him towards a well seasoned log. That would mess up his sissy little metrosexual self. LOL

Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.

I like it. Bama messing up his sissy metrosexual self

but the only thing he could relate to about a chainsaw would be the kickback when it gets in a bind. Bama knows about kickbacks.

Texas population explosion

With attitude like this, the borders of Texas may have to expand a little.

How about the line from Tombstone for a title….Kurt Russle as Wyat Earp says “are you going to skin that smokestick boy? or are you just going to sit there an bleed?”

I kinda wish someone would give ol ‘Barry a Texas necktie though.

What I would give to be back in Texas right now...

Having lived in North Texas for 7 years, just a couple of miles from South Fork Ranch, I learned to LOVE the State. Texans are a very unique breed of folk, and even those that migrate there begin to feel the pride. My youngest daughter is a 1st generation Texan and for that, I’m one proud papa!

If the Man-Child thinks he can Dictate to Texas, he did not pay attention much in school. Texas will not roll-over to the Feds, nor OB1. Gov. Perry is finally showing that he can be a Conservative, and not just the establishment Repub he was for the longest time.

Good to see that he dusted off his boots and grew a set. Things are fixin’ to get interesting in the Lone Star State. I now hang my hat in Nevada, and will be doing my part to send Harry back to Searchlight, hopefully on a Greyhound bus, after a long stint in a Federal Penn!

Wyatt Earp would know how to handle Obama- by taking him by his big ears and throwing him out the door

docweasel Wednesday, August 11th at 3:04PM EDT (link)

The title of this reminds me of the confrontation between and unarmed Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and a “heeled” and surly dealer (Billy Bob Thornton) wherein Earp takes the young’un by the ear and throws him out:

Johnny Tyler: Is somethin’ on your mind?
Wyatt Earp: Just want to let you know you’re sittin’ in my chair.

Johnny Tyler: Is that a fact?
Wyatt Earp: Yeah, it’s a fact.

Johnny Tyler: For a man that don’t go heeled, you run your mouth kinda reckless, don’t ya?
Wyatt Earp: No need to go heeled to get the bulge on a tub like you.

Johnny Tyler: Is that a fact?
Wyatt Earp: Mm-hmm. That’s a fact.

Johnny Tyler: Well, I’m real scared. [Tyler pushes his chair back and stands]
Wyatt Earp: Damn right, you’re scared. I can see that in your eyes.

Johnny Tyler: All right now! [approaches and is face to face to Earp]
Wyatt Earp: Go ahead. Go ahead, skin it! Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Johnny Tyler: Listen, mister, l-I’m gettin’ awful tired of your…

[Earp slaps his face, hard]

Wyatt Earp: I’m gettin’ tired of your gas. Now jerk that pistol and go to work.

[Earp slaps Tyler again, harder]

Wyatt Earp: I said throw down, boy.

[Earp slaps Tyler again, as Tyler cries out]

Wyatt Earp: You gonna do somethin’, or just stand there and bleed? No? I didn’t think so.

[Earp takes Tyler's gun from its holster and throws it to the bar-tender]

Wyatt Earp: Here, Milt, a keepsake. Hang it over the bar.

[Earp roughly grabs Tyler by the ear and pulls him to the door of the bar]

Wyatt Earp: All right, youngster, out you go. Don’t come back!

[Earp throws Tyler out the door, Tyler stumbles out with a cry]

Wyatt Earp: Ever!
