More and more news persons, pundits, and posters on forums and callers to talk radio are asking how Hasan could have gotten the firearms he used to alter or destroy the lives of dozens of fellow Americans. Senator Schumer of New York, and Mayor Daley of Chicago insist it is because of America’s love affair with and access to guns that are the problem.

Guns and access to guns in this instance were not the problem, any more than the manufacturer or hardware store that sold the chainsaw was responsible for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre of years ago. The argument the weapon used is the problem is like saying the pen used to write a libelous article is the fault, not the author.

Major Malik Nidal Hasan, MD, Psychiatrist, self-admitted SoA, SWT is the problem, and had he had grenades or LAWS rockets, the carnage could very well have been more prevalent and lethal. Before he dressed for work in his military uniform of the day, loaded his weapons and subsidiary clips and drove to Fort Hood on November 5, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” and opened fire, this terrorist was a model American citizen according to most lights.

He is a board certified medical practitioner of psychiatry, and an American citizen with no criminal history whatever in his 39 years plus life (that we know of). As such, he was fully eligible to purchase and own a firearm, or an arsenal. Further, he is a commissioned officer of the United States Army, endowed by Congress to special privileges not available to the average citizen or enlisted service person. As such, there is an extra penalty exacted under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for an officer betraying the commissioned oath, and committing crimes, than those under enlisted command or an equivalent civilian in a civilian criminal court. Until a Medical Review and a military court martial, Major Hasan is still an officer and a doctor.

Major Hasan violated his Military Oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies. He also violated his medical Hippocratic Oath. Not enough time, attention, and comment has been addressed to these betrayals by the self-proclaimed jihadist. He did violate what we with a Judeo-Christian background would consider ethical religious behavior. He did not, however, violate the tenets of fundamentalist Islamic faith when he acted. Per Imam Awlaki he had been violating his religious conscience by not having acted before he did.

Hindsight is always 20/20, and the spinmeisters are working overtime to blame everyone but the terrorist for his actions. It is not the fault of the Second Amendment, the ‘military personality and culture,’ or the medical community that a military officer and doctor committed an act of terrorism. What is at fault is a willful blindness to the evolution of a person from citizen, soldier, and doctor into a religious fanatic willing to commit terrorism.

Could the FBI talking to the DOD and Army CID or the Department of Homeland Security have prevented this heinous act of treason and terrorism? Woulda, coulda, shoulda doesn’t work here. The fact remains the act was committed and dozens were wounded and killed by a previously law-abiding, highly educated citizen, soldier, and doctor. Trying to take preventive detention to stop a law abiding man from committing a crime, based upon tenuous signals is un-American, despite what the President outlined in his speech in July, and people have been bleating since his terrorist jihad attack. A word to the wise or confronting the doctor and Major about his statements may have prevented this, had it not been politically incorrect to do so. Or, it could have moved up his timetable. Time will tell.

What doesn’t help matters is WalMart selling, and Americans buying, Men at War 2 in record numbers, where the premise of the game is to be a terrorist killing soldiers and civilians in a jihadi attack. Why aren’t we tracking all these purchasers?

Recently, after the House passage of its version of Healthcare, HR 3962, Speaker Pelosi affirmed that not only was health care a ‘right’, but Congress has the ability and necessity to punish people who choose not to participate in the government, rather than the Creator, granting this right. There is a 2.5% penalty assessed for those who choose not to, or are unable to, purchase the mandated insurance. If that doesn’t work, fines up to $250,000 and five years in a federal penitentiary are potential penalties. All this for not being grateful enough to the government for granting a heretofore unknown right. As well as the uninsured costing the insured too much. Congress and a President foolish enough to sign this into law, will criminalize an entire class of citizenry.

The justification for this egregious grab for federal power is that the cost to society by the uninsured is unfair and too expensive to be sustained by the insured. Okay, fine then, Madam Pelosi and your fellow Progressive Caucus. Since the government thinks it can mandate purchases to maintain rights for the benefit of society as a whole, this cowboy has a proposal for all eligible citizens: you must purchase a firearm by January 1, 2011.

Preferably manufactured by an American manufacturer, for jobs creation, but definitely a minimum .22 caliber. This Second Amendment purchase is mandated to protect the inalienable right to bear arms. This will have a two-fold benefit: it will reduce crime and will reduce the cost of crime to society as a whole, and it will create additional jobs. For those unable to afford one, a Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research will be set up under the direction of a Commissioner who will means-test eligible citizenry for a one-time voucher for the purchase of a rifle, shotgun or handgun.

It is well known that more citizens will fall victim to violent crime during the course of their lives than will face a catastrophic medical emergency. The minority of the population that causes and commits crimes cause the law-abiding citizenry to have to pay exorbitantly of a percentage of their wealth and weal. The cost of medical or funeral care for the victims, court costs and jail or prison housing costs are an enormous financial burden. It is also a well-known fact that in areas where concealed carry, even public carry, are legal and prevalent, the incidence of violent crime decreases dramatically or becomes non-existent.

Jobs will be created as guns are manufactured for every eligible adult who currently does not have one. The increase in energy use, metals mining for the manufacture, design and creation of innovative means of manufacture of the weapon and ammunition, holsters and belts and shooting accessories, will add millions of citizens to the nation’s payrolls. Continuing employment is guaranteed, as Congress mandates all citizens must fire a minimum of 50 rounds a week at a designated range. The increase in land purchase to accommodate range building, instructor training and employment, grounds keeping and range cleaning and maintenance will stimulate the economy to unheard-of levels.

For those with religious or valid conscientious objections, minors, or the previous societal malefactors, or illegal aliens, nonlethal items will be compulsory for self-defense only. Anyone not complying will be subject to being unarmed in the face of a violent intrusion on his/her person, life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and property.

Congress will know that it is answerable to its constituency per the Constitution, in a properly servile manner, to govern rather than rule. Most everyone will be happier and have greater resources available to purchase health care insurance, a new vehicle or transit pass, or whatever a free citizen chooses to spend disposable income on, and less anxiety knowing property and person is safer.

Over the weekend, President Obama has urged prudence and delay for any Congressional hearings, until full investigation of the Fort Hood massacre has been completed. This begs the question: Fully investigated by whom and for what purpose?

Coincidentally, while the Commander-in-Chief continues his world apologia tour, his civilian Attorney General announces the five terrorists identified as part of the 9/11 attacks arew to be transferred from Gitmo to NYC to stand civilian trial for acts of war.

Not widely reported is the fact these five terrorists pled guilty December 8, 2008 and requested martyrdom in the military court system. Their guilty pleas were held in abeyance by the military prtesiding judge, pending a psychiatric evaluation as to the competency of the guilty pleas. The psychiatrists at Walter Reed hospital were charged with this evaluation.

Then-Captain Hasan was a medical psychiatrist at that time, and into the Obama Administration after inauguration. The military guilty pleas have been set aside, Hasan was promoted to Major and transferred to Fort Hood. The five martyrs had their military pleas set aside, and a determination has been made unilaterally (if we are to believe the White House) to try these war criminals as civilian malefactors, rather than terrorists who launched holy jihadist war on the United States. And, we are to believe there will be a guaranteed guilty conviction on each of the five terrorists after civilian justice has been administered.

In the meantime, quite possibly one of the very people who medically adjudged these five terrorists, has himself committed a military jihad terrorist act, killing 14 fellow Americans (I count the unborn citizen as allowed in prosecution of certain crimes – which this one qualifies for). Nidal Malik Hasan not only violated his Military Officer’s Oath, but also his medical Hippocratic Oath in favor of religious zealotry.

The possible fact Hasan may have psychiatrically judged five potential Muslim martyrs should be investigated, and tyhe timeline of not only setting aside the military court’s jurisdiction, but any part our current military terrorist may have played in this latest travesty of the Obama Administration.
