Why Gov. Palin Should Meet The Press

We are still a nation at war, let's act like it.

I am a very conservative person and I don’t just throw my vote away. It’s definately not going to Obama and I am not crazy about McCain. Sarah was great giving her speech but is she ready to deal with Putin? With China? With Iran? With a declining dollar and loose nukes? What is her world view? Is she a realist? A neocon? A carbon copy of W Bush?

I don’t know and I don’t like not knowing.

I hear rumors that McCain is shipping Gov. Sarah Palin off to Alaska to prep for the campaign. She will of course do plenty of fund raising these next couple of months and probably speak with some friendly reporters in AK.

I think she needs to go on MTP, This Week, FTN and FOX News Sunday. Why? We need to know who she is. Not just for her sake but for the sake of the nation. We are a nation at war, we should be acting like it.

Before last week I had only vaguely heard of Sarah Palin. She was an unknown quantity. She rocked the house in MN and now she needs to back it up. I feel let down by Bush. He said he was one thing and turned out to be another. I find it an extreme postion for a person applying for the VP job to run from the press. Meet them Sarah! Sock it to em’. Tell the press what you beleive. Tell America why you are qualified to be a hearbeat away from the Presidency.

We hold the keys to the kingdom. Are we really ready to hand them over to a good ole’ girl from Alaska who we basically know nothing about? Is that conservative? Or is that just cheering for a political party?

If she can’t handle the grilling she might get on a show like “The View” how do we know she could handle another 9/11?

and what her positions are without playing gotcha with the crap-weasel T.V. talking heads. The LAST thing they’re interested in is asking the questions that would answer any legitimate questions.

Let’s just say that VP Candidate Palin chooses to explain her positions in a non-interview format. Would that address your concerns in a satisfactory manner?

And let’s just say she doesn’t do anymore interviews with the talking heads? What are you going to do in the event that happens? Not vote? Vote for Obama? Maybe Bob Barr?

And please explain how this statement is relevant.

If she can’t handle the grilling she might get on a show like “The View” how do we know she could handle another 9/11?

How could doing 20 minutes with the idiots on The View possibly be predictive of anyone’s reaction to an event similar to 9-11. How would you react to the deaths of 3500 of your neighbors and townspeople? The truth is you’ll never know unless and until it happens.

    I’m all ears(eyes).

At a minimum, she will have to face them during the VP Debate, which is coming quickly. Wouldn’t it be better for her to warm up in a smaller format first before she has to face the press during the VP Debate.

There really aren’t any votes to be had for ANY Republican between Boston and DC or between Seattle and San Diego west of the mountains. Why should any Republican go before the media from those places as a supplicant trying to earn the “good opinion” of people who hate Republicans and people from Flyover Country?

As much as I don’t like it from my parochial perspective as a Juneau resident, Gov. Palin has done here exactly as I have advocated Republicans doing nationally; she does not do Pressers or have events here in the Capital, the one place in Alaska that is pretty hostile to her – or any Republican.

If she wants to make news, she does it in Anchorage or Fairbanks or other places that are friendly to her. She pretty routinely shows up on ANC talk radio shows and even takes calls. Likewise, Republicans around the Country should go to where their own constituency lives to make news and appear on news shows. Were I planning for McCain-Palin, I’d never go near the places the elite media like to hand and if they wanted to cover my campaign, which they would, before long they’d be thinking a Holiday Inn Express was a delux hotel.

Just for the record, we have reporters here too. Some even know how to ask questions. Some even know how to ask the standard national media leading questions and questions that assume facts not in evidence. It isn’t that Palin couldn’t handle the questions from the DC and NY types, they really aren’t very smart. It is just that she will be asked loaded and leading questions that she will have to deconstruct and answer in a way that serves her rather than the Democrat talking head and do so without looking like a raging bitch, which is exactly how they’ll characterize her if she gets in their face. I actually think it would be a good thing if she went postal on some smug talking head, the People that matter would love it, but the Elites would go nuts – its at best a calculated risk.

Define “good ole’ girl” and how it makes sense to call a woman that when she’s done her best to shut down the old backslapping system in Alaska as well as she can.

Especially the last paragraph, Right Own!

instincts from what I have witnessed so far. She will be just fine in the VP debates.

Your concern about Biden’s abilities would be more appropriate, and that man has had decades of press attention.

You’re a very conservative person yet you chose a handle like “themoderateman”? Yeah, OKAY.

Plus this: I hear rumors that McCain is shipping Gov. Sarah Palin off to Alaska to prep for the campaign. is straight out of the Democrat talking points.

No, she’s wrapping up some business in AK (you know she’s a governor, and that entails some actual responsibilities) and she’s going to see her son off to war on Thursday.
