I’ve been skeptical this year of our President’s faith, moreover his supposed Christian faith. On one hand he as overtly stated that he is a Christian, both on the campaign trail and more loudly in his Cairo speech to the Muslim world. The latter sounds quite convincing. On the other hand his actions toward the Christian community are about as nonexistent as water in the desert and perhaps even intentionally. If I’ve learned one thing about our tenderfooted President, whether it be from lobbyists to transparency promises to investigations into the CIA, it’s clear that he will say one thing and then do the exact opposite. So forgive me if I don’t take him at his word.
In fact, let’s pretend for a moment that his faith is a mystery and let’s look at his actions this year and see if we can figure it out:
- President Obama bowed to the Saudi King. I mean really, who does that? According to a Muslim friend of mine, NOBODY.
- When in Turkey this year, Obama stated “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation, we consider ourselves a nation of citizens.” He did note that we have a large Christian population, but apparently that, along with the fact that our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principals doesn’t qualify us as a Christian nation.
- In his speech at Georgetown University, a Catholic based institution, the Obama administration had the IHS monogram (symbol for the name of Jesus) on stage covered up during his speech. Oddly, it was too high to be in the camera angle, so it seems odd that our President covered it, especially with the other representations in the room that was left uncovered.
- On the National Day of Prayer President Obama chose not to openly celebrate it.
- In an interview with a French Paper in preparation for his Cairo speech, Obama stated “And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” As Ed Morrissey points out, this is blatantly NOT TRUE. It also seems odd that he would just throw that around with his previous reservations in labeling our country.
- Let’s not forget about the Cairo Speech to the entire Muslim world in June.
- Despite the repression of Obama’s Muslim heritage during the campaign, the White House has now begun to embrace it.
- Obama’s firm response to the rigged Iranian Election in June took 12 days, despite the people’s uprising and overt violence from the Iranian regime. And yet he didn’t criticize the rigged elections, he just condemned the violence. His willingness to work with an falsely elected president hasn’t missed a beat - even noted today. Contrast that to his immediate response to Honduras ousting President Zelaya, calling it a military coup and threatening to stop aid if they didn’t reinstate Zelaya. This despite the fact that Honduras acted in accordance with their constitution to prevent what happened in the neighboring country of Venezuela.
- Under new administration policies, the pentagon denied a military flyover to the God and C0untry Festival on the basis that it was a religious event. This event, despite it’s Christian foundation, saluted and honored our soldiers for their service to our country.
- President Obama sends a message to the Muslim world at the beginning of Ramadan.
- President Obama held a Celebration of Ramadan dinner last night at the White House inviting many American Muslim guests.
President Obama’s actions signify that he has an aversion to Christianity, while they also seem to signify that Islam holds a more special place in his heart. Despite his rhetoric, the facts don’t lie. Now many will say that his actions toward the Muslim world are purely political, but if that were true his politics wouldn’t allow him to offend a nation of Christians that will potentially reelect him to office. After all, he is the one claiming to be Christian.
There is a pattern becoming visible in his actions that can’t be denied.

Can I ask you something?
Steph C Wednesday, September 2nd at 2:38PM EDT (link)How does this help with stopping Obama now? You pushed down what may have been a perfectly good, very relevant to today diary for something the bulk of us have known for awhile now.
For instance, did you know that Eric Holder is hiring 50 new attorneys to ferret out racism?
Did you know they passed a law in Massachussetts that will allow the police to enter homes without a warrant on the pretext of a health issue?
Did you know that Obama’s Green Jobs Czar is blaming white people for pollution in minority communities?
And you’re still worried about whether or not he’s a Christian?

Dude...
therightscoop Wednesday, September 2nd at 3:44PM EDT (link)Do you always badger people who write blogs that you think don’t matter?
Way to fester more blogging.
Btw, I am quite aware of all that you mentioned. But this is important to me.

I hope god takes into account more than just a gut feeling when he sits down and decides if you have been “Christian” enough. I bet if one were able to look at every aspect of your life they could come up with an equally long list of things that make you “not very christian” and I’m sure the same could be said about myself.
Either way… best to leave the judging to the experts (in this case THE expert)
Seriously?
therightscoop Wednesday, September 2nd at 4:53PM EDT (link)Who is playing God here? Are we to take his word for it? I’m not asking him to be a Christian because I want to evangelize him or beat him down. I simply want him to be who he says he is.
If a murderer says he didn’t do it, are we to take his word for it? Or do we look at the evidence?
I think what you are missing here is that there are much larger implications here if our president is in fact a liar. We elected him, and we expect him to be who he claims. This isn’t about self righteousness. I am not asking him to be a perfect Christian, or to even be a better one.
This boils down to trust. And if you aren’t willing to test those who lead us regarding their claims, then you may follow someone down a road you don’t wish to travel.
Well, you see,
Steph C Wednesday, September 2nd at 5:09PM EDT (link)There’s the problem. We already know Obama is a liar. One of the running jokes around here is what is the expiration date on one or another of his statements. We already know he is not who he said he is.
You’ve been here only 4 months. We’re beyond worrying about Obama’s Christianity because we know it’s no more than something else he uses to further his agenda. It’s not that we don’t care but we know it’s not going to do one thing to help us now.
Had you wrote about anything besides what you wrote about you might have even gotten a recommend from me because it looks like you did some research.

I'm all for fostering blogging...
Steph C Wednesday, September 2nd at 4:57PM EDT (link)Festering? Not so sure about that. However, I’d rather foster those that will do some good and that was the point of my comment. This one does little to nothing to help us out of the fix we’re in.

Awesome.
therightscoop Wednesday, September 2nd at 10:38PM EDT (link)I’m glad you all know this. Great!
But did you ever consider someone may wonder in here who perhaps doesn’t know this?
Besides, this was more for the facebook crowd that has a nice mesh of libs and cons. And they need to hear it.
You should really create more of a welcoming atmosphere here.
You could have started by reading more than the front page.
Steph C Thursday, September 3rd at 6:20AM EDT (link)Had you done so, you would have seen a history of posts on the subject and become more familiar with where we are in the debate of Obama’s religious beliefs and a host of other issues.
You would have also figured out… eventually… that I’m not a Dude.
It’s not that I don’t care about things like. It’s just that talking about his religion isn’t going to do anything to stop him now. We’ve got this awful monstrosity of a health care bill, a cap and tax bill, an FCC Czar who wants to kill our freedom of speech and political dissent, a Green Jobs Czar who wants to destroy white people, and a host of other nasty little things we have to worry about that are “orchestrated” for the purpose of destroying the country as we know it.
All I’m asking is: give us something to stop the Obama behemoth. We can worry talk about his religion later when it’s over.

He also hasn't selected a DC Church to join yet
cclive Wednesday, September 2nd at 5:10PM EDT (link)I know he has been attending various Churches but has yet to join one. Very curious.
