The Hand that Rocks the Party

Naysayers can say what they will about Sarah Palin, but honestly the woman has style.  Her most recent coup came at Saturday’s Tea Party Convention and involved nothing more than a few words written on the palm of her hand.  Not since Joe WIlson shouted ”You Lie” to the President have so many, been so obsessed, about so few words.

In the blogosphere dems chide her for the use of a “cheat sheet” and  Politico notes press secretary Robert Gibbs pokes fun at her by penning on his own hand “thumb” with an arrow pointing to the appropriate digit. For some reason the Lefties just can’t get enough of Palin’s left hand.

But in pure Palin style she goes for the winning shot just one day later. Dispite, or perhaps because, of all the hoopla she once again turns to the hand as a post-it note. When she campaigns in Texas for Rick Perry, she wrote “hi mom” for all the media and thus the world to see. I have little regard for liberal media and so would have gone with something more on the lines of “bite me” or “which finger am I holding up now?”.  Whether it’s lipstick, pigs, fishing, guns, or the hand, she comes off as such a breath of political fresh air.

As a side note, I see the “hand as a whiteboard” phenomenon growing this year.  Maybe not by Mrs. P, but by the movement.  I envision half the Republicans at the next health care bipartisan mixer with quirky sayings and odd pictures sharpied on their palms.  This way they can voice their displeasure in the tradition of Wilson and Justice Samuel Alito without having to move their lips. Our lawmakers can have the word C-Span tattooed on their fingertips, and when those backdoor meetings become too frequent they can raise their arms and start wiggling.  Heck if they want to go into a ling winded diatribe, they can carry their message halfway up to the elbow.  Yes, I know, digressing.

I’m not trying to convince anyone she should be the next POTUS. I’m not even sure I’m at that stage yet. She’s got a little to learn, especially in the foreign affairs dept. But she’s learning. She’s got her domestic talking points down pat.  She’s good at what she’s doing, namely pushing the progressive movement. She can generate funds, which our party needs. And if a lib ever knocks a back-handed serve her way she has proven she will lob it right back at ‘em, a plus for any politician.  While many have raised the profile of women in the republican/conservative movement (Marsha Blackburn among them)  Sarah Palin has brought it to the next and different level. She’s just good people.

and with her own sense of self-deprecation can respond like a real person, without umming and ahhing, and without a TELEPROMPTER (for when addressing kindergartens).

The left fears her like a recurring nightmare because she is exactly when they have promoted and yearned for in a woman but cannot seem to produce among themselves, save for harpies, shrews, users, uglies, and all the other pejoratives men have been invented for women over the years (by MEN).

Sara is beautiful and photogenic (a quality in the age of media not to be underestimated), accomplished politically and professionally, has a record that is not sealed or obscured, does not present herself as a Messiah or savior, has five (count’em) children and one with disabilities, enjoys an apparently contented marriage, and exhibits a wonderful down-the-middle-American diction of betcha, gottum, and connects with real people’s voices as a real person.

Moreover, she’s naturally funny, a greater sign of intelligence than all the late-night hosts tv can produce, or al the degrees from Harvard can verify..

I would love to see her run for pres. someday, beat the pants off the left, and be the first woman pres. as a REPUBLICAN, while the NYSlimes still claims she is not even female.

But really – Andrea Mitchell was the one that said Palin was done for after she resigned from the Alaska Governor’s office….

Now Palin is the competition over at FOX. NBC News – MSNBC are ratings disasters…..Andrea Mitchell needs a clue – get lost…

Does she comes back next week with a smile and note that says “advertising pays”? Hadn’t seen that one Beasley. Thanks for the snickers.

And the resultant damage seems to be expanding, not contracting, as time goes on.

And regardless of what one thinks about her political future, that ability is invaluable. It just about derailed ObamaCare and is leading to more Democrats scoring own goals each day.

David Axelrod has obviously been hard at work. We no longer see articles and stories about how “stupid” Sarah Palin is. Their newest meme is that she is “dangerous”. Chrissy Matthews talked about it on Hardball and there have been links to at least 3 or 4 different stories on RealClearPolitics with almost identical titles. This has got to be a WH-directed policy through Axelcrook & Emanuel that means their “stupid” approach has not worked.

Maybe it’s just me, but I really don’t see the “dangerous” angle providing much fruit for them either.

      then they ridicule you

      then they oppose you

Guess what part we are getting close to?

        said, referring to Palin,

Nothing is more frightening than an empty vessel in power

        .

Funny that he thinks we should be worried about Sarah “Empty Vessel” Palin, who isn’t in any kind of “power”, but doesn’t bat an eyelash over Barack “Empty Suit” Obama!

I can’t believe I actually used to respect Matthews. Seriously, I wonder if Olbermann’s mental illness is contagious?

I keep having this dream that if the COMCAST/NBC merger goes through, that they will turn MSNBC into an all sports network. Minus “the chill up my leg” and Olbermann of course. :
