RNC is live blogging today (Peanuts, get your peanuts)

Here’s a reminder, that the RNC is doing a live blogging event today. Here’s your spot.

http://net.gop.com/LiveResponse/

Now many of us are not thrilled with everything the RNC does, but this is nice thing. No really! Especially if you’re not inclined to actually watch the entire circus on the tube. Not saying give up RS for the day – never, never- but you might want to check it out occassionally and ask ‘em a quesiton or two.

following Cantor with Louise Slaughter. Wow. Big league versus bush league.

I’m trying to look at this objectively. I really think our guys are cleaning house.

    • Swamp_Yankee

      Is Louise Slaughter insane.

    • Common_Cents

DEMS will prob win the spin in the media.

The headlines: “REPS don’t want you to have insuarnce!” “REPS, party of no” “Obama gave REPS a chance, but they opposed”

      • Swamp_Yankee

Then imagine the headlines if our guys never showed. It would have been ten times worse. At least, we will win curious people with brains.

  • tngal

Ready to score the first half? I say..

Dems – maybe a 3 and a half (I give them the extra half just because of slaughter’s denture moment. Swamp Yahnkee liked it, so I give her credit for that. Pelosi doesn’t look happy since she can’t control this mess. )

    Prez – maybe a four

    US – solid 8

  • Swamp_Yankee

McConnell mentioning the time alotted to each party to keep the newly Mr. Bi-Partisan in check. Obama is trying to “look” fair but it is 2-1 in minutes and Mitch let everyone know.

    Paul Ryan looks great.

    Llamar Alexander had POTUS backpeddling.

Obama looks BORED. Super bored already.

The trap was not playing or not coming ready to play.

I think our guys look just fine.

  • tngal

if the president would QUIT INTERRUPTING THEM! Oh, that man is driving me up the freakin wall.

He said he wanted to hear our plans, ideas, and suggs and when we offer them up he interrupts.

Oddly enough, I actually thought Lamar did ok at the outset. Something’s off about that. Mayeb someone gave him their notes

You’re right about Ryan, he does look good.

  • tngal

wouldn’t let the president interrupt him. And he brought up the Phrma deal. But of course, Big O gets condoscending.

    “we’re not campaigning anymore”

  • Swamp_Yankee

John Kyl did a great job though.

  • Common_Cents

    He cut off Paul Ryan.

Basic DEM plan, our plan is best, any disagreement is not in the spirit of discussing common ground. Our way or no way. In his opening remarks Obama gave away their secret. He will give the REPS a chance to get on board or the DEMS will go ahead w/out them. In reality DEMS are angling for REP cover for this disaster.

I wonder if Dems have any doctors on their side today, or are they all bureaucrats?

Notice Obama won’t shut up? I can hear him talking in background while REPs have the floor. How freakin rude.

DEMS only play is pulling out a “poor me” horror story in order to take over the whole shooting match. How ridiculous.

obama keeps talking about his ACME car insurance and how poor it was that it wouldn’t fix his car. DUH, I bet he only bought liability insurance and not comprehensive insurance to get a lower premium while he drove a cheap car during college. What an idiot for even using this as a relevant example.

Pelosi? WTF? We need to check the water in CA for brain altering drugs for any voter who pulled the lever for her.

  • Common_Cents

Obama tried to interrupt McCain and John wouldn’t allow.

McCain was pointing out the behind the doors deal making.

Obama told him the election is over.

This is war people. I hope McCain now gets that lesson. Quit talking about your friends on the other side.

Obama says you cannot criticize the vapor plan or you are just interrupting the process. He won’t talk about process. Gee, wonder why?

  • Doc Holliday

he will oppose Obama and will not take crap. Many of our guys are throwing him softballs. This entire show was a big mistake.

  • tngal

    He laid it out good…

  • Swamp_Yankee

and its still early. This could backfire backtime. Back to back petty exchanges with McCain and Cantor. He is starting to look highly unprofessional.

I hope some conservative with internet/video skills makes a small video with all Obama’s immature and annoyed comments and looks.

  • Doc Holliday

he doesn’t play the gentleman’s club crap they do in the Senate.

  • USNJIMRET

requiring an ER visit, a Spinal Tap and three days of antibiotics.
First I ever heard about that, and I’m not a Doc, but three says of antibiotic treatment seems like to short a time for that course of therapy.
Also, he claimed that while in the waiting room, while his meningitis stricken daughter is being seen to, he thought about how lucky he was to have insurance to cover the cost?
What the hell kind of Father is thinking about the insurance coverage while his little girl is being treated for meningitis?
    I mean seriously now.
I’ve had to take my kid’s to the ER, and the amount of money it was or wasn’t going to cost me was never on MY mind. My kid surviving and not being permanently screwed up was on MY mind!
A man who will ‘use’ his kid’s for political points………not much of a Father, IMO.

  • tngal

Storytime was ridiculous, We were on to some women’s dead sister’s false teeth????

  • Common_Cents

Obama gave McCain a direct slap in the face.

John, the election is over. the campaigning is over.

I hope McCain and any other establishment REP wakes up to the war being waged on them. It’s take no prisoners.

  • AngryMatt

I’ll concede that Obama got the better of the exchanges with our House conference a few weeks back. This has been a total reversal. Our guys are cool, calm, collected and concise. While the Dems are going for nonsensical anecdote after anecdote, our guys are laying out their plans, their numbers and pointing out that the American people are against the bill.

We didn’t need a knockout punch here. Honestly, we could never get one with a deck this stacked. But what the GOP needed to do the most is prove that it is ready to govern. And that’s what our guys are doing right now. Amazing to me that I’m lauding Lamar Alexander but he set the tone and Kyl and Cantor are knocking it out of the park.

  • Doc Holliday

like they say, “you might not be interested in war, but war is interested in you”

I am not hear to cover McCain’s arse, but the whole JD Hayworth thing is a waste of good Repub money and time. There is no way he defeats McCain. Let’s move on from McCain and attack the enemy, spill his blood! (ok, I was reverting into my Patton routine my bad)
