Welcome Back Death Panels

In the latest health care bill introduced in the house yesterday it appears as if the much controversial ‘Death Panels’ are back.

First on page 129

“shall provide for the dissemination of information related to end-of-life planning to individuals seeking enrollment in Exchange-participating health  benefits plans offered through the Exchange;”

Then on page 642

“An explanation by the practitioner of the role and responsibilities of a health care proxy and of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports  available, including palliative care and hospice, and  benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title. ”

Among the panels and commissions that are included in the bill, one of the groups of bureaucrats below could one day be deciding if you cost too much to keep alive.

Health Benefits Advisory Committee
Clinical perspective advisory panel
Personal Care Attendant Workforce Advisory Panel
Medicare Payment Advisory Commission

Our Congress is a complete embarrassment to this nation.  We need a congressional overhaul, not a health care overhaul.

I should also mention that the bill does not restrict illegal aliens from getting health care on your dime. The only mention of undocumented aliens is on page 267 of the bill stating:

SEC. 347. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS.
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Yet there is NO enforcement that even checks for an ID in the emergency room.

You’re exactly right. I also searched the bill and came up with only one hit on the word ‘citizen’, just like you said.

Nowhere in this monstrosity was the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act EMTALA addressed, so anybody walking into an emergency room must still be treated for ‘free’ (paid for by the taxpayers).

This seems like a huge loophole to me. What if a lot of people just say “To heck with buying insurance, I’ll just go to the ER when I’m sick”?

AMEN, I will use that line on my next protest sign

I just want to know: were is and what was HR 3200???
The bill we looked at all summer?

    A BILL
To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans
and reduce the growth in health care spending, and
    for other purposes.

    (What are other purposes?)

The term ‘other purposes’ is attached to most bills. Its for adding pork to it.

    is the Humpty Dumpty loophole!

It could be anything! “When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in a rather scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean, nothing more nor less!”

This Obamanation of an abomination undoubtedly contains the seeds for its own destruction. Finding outrageous legilsative monstrosities at random will be no problem.

The problem will be: getting the message out to our Great Unwashed Masses to understand the terrors in this “bill” (how appropriate it is now available near Halloween!).

Don’t expect a 60 Minutes piece exposing the truth about this thing!
