Menendez Health Reform Poll

Senator Menendez (NJ-D) has a poll on his website about health insurance reform.  Right now the results are 71% of people oppose and 25% support it.  You can submit your results as many times as you like.   I encourage everyone, even if you don’t live in New Jersey to take part in it.

How the Senate Finance Committee deals with tort reform.

From page 1211 and 1212 of the Senate Fiance Committee health care takeover bill:

Subtitle H—Sense of the S
Regarding Medical Malpra
SEC. 3701. SENSE OF THE SENATE REGARDIN
MALPRACTICE.
It is the sense of the Senate that—
(1) health care reform presents an opportunity
to address issues related to medical malpractice and
medical liability insurance;
(2) States should be encouraged to develop and
test alternatives to the existing civil litigation system
as a way of improving patient safety, reducing med-
ical errors, encouraging the efficient resolution of
disputes, increasing the availability of prompt and
fair resolution of disputes, and improving access to
liability insurance, while preserving an individual’s
right to seek redress in court; and
(3) Congress should consider establishing a
State demonstration program to evaluate alter-
natives to the existing civil litigation system with re-
spect to the resolution of medical malpractice claims.

Pathetic at best.  When it comes to real ways to reduce health insurance costs the Senate urges states to “develop and test new alternatives to civil litigation.”  There is ZERO tort reform, just suggestions on what the states should do.  Is this really about reducing health insurance costs?

While at the same time, the 245 Billion dollar deficit haunting medicare has been taken out of this bill and added to our national debt. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1009/28470.html

We are in dire need of an overhaul, but not a health care overhaul, we need a congressional overhaul.

A call to action – Leave our health care alone

I read this morning on TheHill.com (link) where Arlen Specter stated that “I think the public option is gaining momentum. … I’m not going to step back a bit.” Now is the time, its do or die. We need to rally our family, friends, coworkers, everyone we know and tell them the truths about government run health care. If you are not already doing so, you need to call your representatives every single day and let them know that voting in favor of Obamacare is political suicide. What makes this country great is that the people are FREE. Free to buy health insurance and just as free not to. We are free to choose our doctors, our lawyers, and our politicians. America is great because the individual is dependent only upon him or herself. We don’t need to go beg the government to get treated by the best doctor. If we want the best, we strive for the best, no need to kiss the shoes of someone else to get what we want. Now is the time, if you read conservative blogs but don’t really take the time to write letters or call your congressmen, now is the time to take action. The very freedom that this country is based upon is in jeopardy.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.
Thomas Jefferson

“What Up?” – By Michael Steele

The revamped GOP.com page is a Joke.  Random faces appear in place of the “O” in the GOP logo, most of which are black people.  Haven’t we learned yet not to pander to one side or the other?  It’s an obvious attempt to pander to minorities.  Everyone with eyes can see right through it.  If you hover your mouse over the “Discuss” tab on the page one section is entitled “What Up?” – By Michael Steele.  The GOP obviously has still not learned that they shouldn’t be trying to expand their members by giving up their values.  “What Up?”… Come on guys, you really thing pretending you’re from ghetto and using slang is going to improve your image?  We want Republican roots, don’t inch more toward the center (We saw how that turned out…McCain), instead go as far right as possible.  Stand up for conservatism instead of becoming more moderate.  The GOP’s decision to change their image to what is reflected in their new website is just plain pathetic.

Snowe voting for Democrats

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091013/ap_on_go_co/us_health_care_overhaul

I think we should take this opportunity to let Olympia Snowe what we think of her now since she has voted in favor of Obamacare.

This can be done here –> http://snowe.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactSenatorSnowe.Email

I think we should start a movement to have her resign as a Republican United States Senator.  She has shown us all she is a turncoat and has zero loyalty to the Republican party as well as the United States.  Inching us even closer to a Socialized United States should condemn her as a valid form of representation of the Republicans.  Let this be a sign to all Republicans in office right now that if they move in the direction of Socialism we will end their career.

N.J. senators push to keep public option

http://www.app.com/article/20091011/NEWS03/910110362/1007/NEWS02&source=rss

From App.com:  New Jersey Sens. Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg joined 28 other Democrats on Thursday in urging Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada to include the public option in a measure expected to reach the Senate floor before year’s end.”We have spent the better part of this year fighting for health reform that would provide insurance access and continuity to every American in a fiscally responsible manner,” they wrote in a letter to Reid. “We are concerned that absent a competitive and continuous public insurance option, health reform legislation will not produce nationwide access and ongoing cost containment.”

I’m sorry to say, but I do live in NJ and I have been to the town halls, where Frank Pallone tries to convince a packed room of people holding anti-obamacare signs that he believes that the majority of his constituents want the public option.  Lets take a look at some of house member Pallone’s recent votes:

Prohibiting Federal Assistance to ACORN Nay
Student Aid Program Modifications Yea
Energy Law Amendments (Cap and Trade) Yea
Hate Crimes Expansion Yea
Releasing Funds for Economic Stabilization Act Yea
Auto Industry Financing Yea

Supplemental Appropriations for the Cash for Clunkers Program Yea

I should also mention Pallone made it a point at his town hall to tell everyone he played a key role in writing both the healthcare bill, as well as the cap and trade bill.

Next is Robert Menendez::

Prohibiting the Funds in S 1200 from Being Used for Abortions Nay
Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 Yea

And finally lets see Frank Lautenberg’s record:

I’m embarrassed to admit I live in the toilet bowl otherwise known as New Jersey.  Although there might be a light at the end of the tunnel with Chris Christie slightly leading in the poles, I’m not too hopeful.  If you live in one of the other 49 states please contact your representatives so one day we don’t wake up living under even more tyranny than we do today.

California wants $4.7 billion in high-speed rail stimulus

California is slated for $38 billion dollars in budget deficits for the next three years.  The only logical thing to do would be to build a high speed rail.  What sort of crazy upside down land world has this turned into?  People are leaving tax intensive states like CA, NJ, NY in waves so the only logical thing to do is….not reduce taxes to incentivize business…not to reform welfare programs which have grown out of control…not de-unionize highway programs to save taxpayer money, but instead….build a high speed rail financed with debt that will eventually need to be paid back by the country as a whole.

For the next few elections, if you yourself have a brain and a thought in it, or if you know someone that has a brain and a thought inside it, please urge them to get to the voting booths.  We have gone too long with dolts electing the people who make decisions for this country.

Obama gets NOBEL PEACE PRIZE ?!?

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iAekET4T1D_vzDMN4JW_xZyvgezAD9B7FOR00

How can someone who has accomplished NOTHING get a Nobel Peace Prize?  It goes to show you how irrelevant the Peace Prize has become.

“for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”.

Like the “cooperation” between the Democrats and Republicans in Congress right now?

Here are some of the previous presidential winners:

Theodore Roosevelt
Woodrow Wilson
Jimmy Carter

I should also mention Al Gore
