MEMBER DIARY

Adam Hasner, Adolf Hitler And The St Pete Times

The U.S. Senate race in Florida is not so much the focus here as is the media and the tactics that can be expected in the coming months.

To those who are more interested in restoring this country to it’s former greatness than transforming it into a progressive ‘spread the prosperity’ Euro-socialist society currently being promulgated by the Left, I’ve often said that the media is by far a greater threat than any political party.

But for the media and the entertainment industry in this country, which are now little more than propaganda apparatus for the Progressive Left, intentionally misleading the American public with distorted facts and false information, Obama and Co. would have realized very few of the inroads enjoyed over the past few years.

In fact, it’s doubtful that Obama would even be occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue right now – need I remind anyone of the corrupt ‘JournoList’ endeavor taking place during the 2008 election that was conveniently swept under the carpet as quickly as it came to light?

Political analysts on the right have already said that the 2012 election cycle will be among the ugliest in American history, if not the ugliest. White House aide David Plouffe, the strategist who managed Obama’s 2008 campaign acknowledges this when he recently said, “It’s going to be a very close, competitive election … a street fight for the presidency.”

According to The FreeDictionary.com; Street fighting is a colloquial term used to denote unsanctioned, usually illegal, hand-to-hand fighting in public places, between individuals or groups of people… a street fight has no rules and often results in serious injury or even death.

Essentially, a fight to the finish. Any questions?

And for those who’ve been paying attention, we’ve seen the irrefutable evidence of how vile the Left is capable of being, where hatred is in no short supply, and we’ve also seen the blatant bias and complicity of the media in furthering a shared ideological agenda.

Which leads us to this…

Yesterday, the St. Pete Times perpetrated an egregious assault on Republican U.S. Senate candidate Adam Hasner in a story that came complete with the prerequisite sensational headline just to ensure that the reader is in the desired state of mind before beginning; Has Adam Hasner gone off the deep end?

Political Editor Adam C. Smith comments on an Independence Day message where Hasner draws on the words of FDR and insinuates that Hasner is comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler, underlining the words that led him to this conclusion;

On July 4, 1941, as Hitler’s Reich spread its influence across Europe, President Roosevelt used a radio address to proclaim the Fourth of July holiday as an example to the world in its fight for freedom. President Roosevelt said, “several new practices of tyranny have been making such headway that the fundamentals of 1776 are being struck down abroad, and definitely, they are threatened here.”

Nearly five months to the day later, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Despite the challenges, a generation of Americans would answer the call to save America, and the world, from a dark future under the control of brutal empires and savage dictators.

Today, the biggest threat to our liberty is not a foreign government, but our own. The worst practice of tyranny is not from a dictator, but from our debt – a debt which threatens to enslave future generations of Americans to a diminished future, a lower standard of living, and a reduction of our freedoms. We face more restrictions on our liberties from stifling bureaucrats than from threats abroad.

Smith makes his stretch by focusing on a reference to ‘our own‘ government, then determines that this must be a veiled reference to Barack Obama. Typical of the Left, Smith cannot fathom that when folks talk about government today, it’s not an exclusive term. It’s both sides of the aisle, Democrat and Republican, administrations past and present – Bush and Obama… they’ve all failed the American people.

Smith also conveniently looks past any part of the speech that doesn’t fit his prescribed theory, such as Hasner clearly stating that, “The worst practice of tyranny is not from a dictator, but from our debt...”

sarah-palin-as-hitler1Seems fairly obvious, does it not, that Hasner is referring to the national debt as the aforementioned ‘threat’ and even goes out of his way to stress that it is not one individual (dictator).

Perhaps, the very mention of the name Hitler is just too tempting an opportunity for the media, after all, many of these same individuals have been condemning the tea party for two years for this type behavior.

… all the while ignoring identical behavior from the Left.

What Smith’s endeavor should indicate to folks is that the media will stop at nothing to ensure the success of the Progressive Left, a.k.a. the Democrat Party, in the upcoming 2012 election. In order to hold their ideological gains, it’s critical that Obama wins re-election and equally so that the Left retains the majority in the U.S. Senate.

These accomplishments are also critical for an even more important reason for the media… to avoid it’s comeuppance for being wrong about Obama all along. After all, he can’t possible be the greatest President ever if the American people reject a second term at the ballot box.

So Republican candidates should brace themselves for an onslaught of nasty media coverage with every double standard in play and every sinister tactic in use. In fact, I marvel that Smith was not able to work the race card in somehow… must have been an off day.

To expect nothing less than this type of yellow journalism from the idiots at the St Pete Slimes, simple capitalism works don’t buy their “newspaper” .

because the little bit of money they get from your subscription/newsstand purchase isn’t going to hurt their bottom line much.

If you really want to put a hurt on them – organize a boycott of their advertisers. Write to them and tell them that you won’t buy any of their products as long as they continue to advertise in the paper because (insert specifics about the egregiously biased things the newspaper’s written, or better yet – details about one or two particular editorial columnists).

Get a few dozen or a few hundred friends to express the same grievances, to the same advertisers, and watch as the fun begins

….for the Tampa Trib to fold.

The Bay area is far too small to support TWO papers…The Trib is on its last legs.. I hope they can hold on until the election next year..given that the GOP convention is here in Tampa, I sure wouldn’t want the SPT to be the only paper of record in my hometown for that event..

Republicans are ,Shall we Say,not so good at street fighting. we learn manners ,honor our fathers, mothers and those who came before us, who fought for what we wish to always hold dear. Progressives have no such feelings ( at most a very few) , or Trains of similar thought. To Them, it is all about The Power and what Is To Be Gained. Conservatives and similar, wish to retain that which is so dear, and to basically be left alone.(why is that so hard to comprehend for seemingly so many?) Not sayin’ it’s too late for a learnin’ curve ,but this point cannot be emphasized enough: We’re in for a Fight, and DAVIE PLOUFFE says they are going to Bring It. Imagine four more years of this Pouge/Poseur,and tell yourself in a mirror that THAT IS ACCEPTABLE To You. P O’d YET? One trait in our favor: It takes a thinker to be conservative, so work on that positive. Use their words as ammunition for our fight. God knows they hand it out every time they speak…. and it’s free for the taking. HimSelf NEVER Does stop talkin’, now do HE?
