Obama Administration Granting De Facto Amnesty For Millions Of Illegals
The Obama administration announced late Thursday that it will do a case-by-case review of deportations, allowing many undocumented immigrants without criminal records to stay in the United States indefinitely and apply for work permits.
This is de facto Amnesty for millions of illegal aliens – the official term for those who are in this country illegally;
In U.S. law, an alien is “any person not a citizen or national of the United States.”
An alien who is present in a country unlawfully or without the country’s authorization is known as an illegal alien of that country.
The U.S. Government’s use of alien dates back to 1798, when it was used in the Alien and Sedition Acts. U.S. law makes a clear distinction between aliens and immigrants by defining immigrants as a subset of aliens. Although U.S. law provides no overarching explicit definition of the term “illegal alien”, the term is used in many statutes and elsewhere (e.g., court cases, executive orders).
Granted, it’s no longer politically correct to use that term in this country to describe these <wink_wink> “undocumented persons”, individuals Sen. Dick Durbin (D) referred to as “Americans”;
“The Obama Administration has made the right decision in changing the way they handle deportations of DREAM Act students,” Durbin said. “These students are the future doctors, lawyers, teachers and, maybe, senators, who will make America stronger. We need to be doing all we can to keep these talented, dedicated, American students here, not wasting increasingly precious resources sending them away to countries they barely remember.
Never mind that this policy will affect many more than just “students”, no sense letting facts get in the way at this point.
This is just one more example of Obama and Far Left having no respect whatsoever for the rule of law in this country, nor for the enforcement of said law should they disagree. It’s invoking the DREAM Act through policy change instead of through legislation.
In short, it’s Obama ruling this country by fiat.
It’s also a politically motivated move designed to help shore up the Latino vote for 2012 at the expense of U.S. taxpayers, who just picked up the tab for his Magical Misery Bus Tour campaign romp through the Mid-West that curiously seemed to focus on white folks – could it be that this demographic is also showing eroding support in the polls? Nah, couldn’t be that…
This action is yet another example of ‘watch the other hand’… this decision being announced at the end of the news week as the President embarks on an end of summer vacation, Congress is in recess and most Americans are focused on the first day of school.
More importantly, it’s setting a precedent that will one day in the very near future be used by activist judges legislating from the bench to grant full citizenship to anyone here illegally.
After all, are they not just “innocent immigrants who are Americans in Waiting like those who came before them,” according to Chris Newman, of the National Day Laborers Organizing Network.
So I ask, where’s the outrage? As the economy continues to struggle, American taxpayers are expected to pick up the estimated $113 billion a year it cost to harbor illegal immigrants – an average of $1,117 for every American household – according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
Where are the conservative groups/ leaders in Washington? Where are our local Congressmen who ‘represent’ our voice in the federal government? Where are the tea party ‘leaders’ who labor vicariously to propel themselves into the spotlight and be recognized as the voices of the movement?
If there is no outcry by the American people over this, if it’s accepted with little fanfare, then there should never again be a call for state governments to address immigration laws or implement E-Verify. What does any of it matter when once an illegal alien is identified and turned over to ICE, the future ‘Democrat voters-to-be’ are then granted a waiver?
Hell, maybe the Florida Legislature does know better after all…
