MEMBER DIARY

While you were talking about Todd Aiken, you might have missed the fact that our other Senate candidates are doing quite well.

RCP’s Battle for the Senate  map has now moved the Wisconsin Senate Race from “toss up” to “leans Republican.  Former Governor Tommy Thompson now has an 8.3 point lead in the RCP average of recent polls.

But that’s not the big news.  RCP has also moved the Connecticutt Senate race from “leans Democrat” to “toss up”.   Linda McMahon has a 3 point lead (49 – 46) in the latest Rasmussen poll of likely voters in Connecticutt.

But the big shocker is that a new Bahdoun/Foster poll  of 1733 likely voters in Michigan shows Pete Hoekstra with a +2 advantage over incumbent Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow.  This is a 16 point turn around in the month of August.

Oh, and Scott Brown has a 5 point lead in Massachusetts in the latest PPP (D) poll.  Yes, you heard that right–PPP (D)!!!  Rehbert leads Tester (47 – 43) (Rasmussen Reports)in Montana.   Heller leads by 3.7 in the RCP poll average in Nevada, although there are no polls in August. And Berg has a +5 lead in the poll averages for North Dakota, although again there are no polls since July.

While Florida and Virginia continue to be challenging races, it’s beginning to look more and more like a Republican-controled Senate, regardless of how Missouri turns out.

FL, VA or both will go our way.

He really needs to buck up, or he’ll end up like Katherine Harris…

Get his father, Jeb Bush, and Marco Rubio to start campaining with him, and appear in ads.

      • RealQuiet

He’s up 50-41 in that just released poll by Quinnipiac

        • commonsenseobserver

At least, according to National Journal and RCP…

Ace of Spades has it right. I looked directly at the poll and it definitely shows Mack up 9

The NYTimes document was either wrong, or both read it wrongly.

I doubt he’s really outperforming Romney that much.

            Quinninipac itself says this:

“In the U.S. Senate race, Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson leads U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, his Republican challenger, 50 – 41 percent. Independent voters split with 45 percent for Nelson and 43 percent for Mack.

Voters disapprove 47 – 41 percent of the job Gov. Rick Scott is doing.”

It’s still a proposition of Socialist Democrats versus a MAN with a positive record. IF he loses – it will be the Republican Part’s fault totally. What he said about rape is what a very many people believe – that there have been way too many documented wolf cries of Rape – when it was some slut that got herself in a position to see money and law suits. It is unfortunate that a person must totally guard their tongue and be bashed to death for one misspeak or misunderstanding. Are Missourians unborn baby murderers that they will vote for an abortion advocate rather than Akin over this? Oh ye of little faith.

No one bashes Obama, Biden or Holder for their lies, their crimes or their gaffes. What is with you people anyway?

He’s already toxic for the pro-life cause, and, no, suggesting that victims of rape may be “sluts” (which is true, but…) does nothing to advance our argument. By staying on, he only further damages the cause. Victims of rape deserve the utmost compassion, and while Todd Akin may have that in his heart, he put his foot in his mouth.

Everyone on this blog has bashed Obama, Biden, and Holder. But we don’t have the media on our side, and we expect Republicans to appear a little smarter. If they must put their feet in their mouths, they should at least look good while doing so.

As long as he can withdraw, he should be quietly pushed out, and if he refuses, a strong write-in candidate should be drafted immediately, if not now.
