NRA gets the message on Kagan?

It shouldn’t have taken beating the NRA over the head to get them to do the right thing on the Kagan nomination, but for some reason it did.

Now the NRA comes out and says;

NRA Opposes Kagan, Will Score Senators on Confirmation Vote
The National Rifle Association announced Thursday it will oppose Senate confirmation of Elena Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court and plans to score senators’ votes in its annual evaluation of their records.

So now we have to do the same thing with the NRA with respect to their possible coming endorsement of Harry Reid?

Don’t know about you, but they’re on strike three with me. This was strike one.

*sigh* Hope the NRA hasn’t become an AARP clone.

    CHICAGO (AP) – Members of the Chicago City Council have approved what city officials say is the strictest handgun ordinance in the United States.

    Friday’s 45-0 vote comes four days after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling made it almost certain that Chicago’s handgun ban would be overturned. The high court ruled Americans have a right to own a gun for self-defense anywhere they live.

    The new city ordinance bans gun shops in Chicago and prohibits gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or garages, with a handgun.

      They never defy the Supreme Court when it goes against their proposals. That’s actually my chief complaint with the whole GOP.

        we will ignore that.

    If someone cannot legally possess a firearm outside of their residence, how are they to get it to their home? They are just doing the same thing DC did. Banning firearms by other means, forcing another lawsuit. A very large penalty needs to be placed upon the criminal politicians who are thumbing their noses at the Constitution.

    in any way ought to consider whether their support might not better go elsewhere. There are lots of reliable allies, from GOA to Kasich (whose opponent has been endorsed by NRA – Kasich may be a lost sheep on occasion, but Strickland is a demon from hell).
