Nancy Pelosi LOVES to talk – but refuses to debate. Sensing a trend with scared Democrats here…

Interviewed on Fox News, Republican candidate for California’s 8th House District John Dennis would like to debate the incumbent Pelosi, but he can’t get a word in edgewise – because she’s afraid to face him in a public debate. Not surprising though, really, as Pelosi’s record is indefensible, and she really doesn’t want to be compared to a better candidate in public.

As of this writing, it’s been over six days since John Dennis asked Pelosi to debate;

San Francisco, CA — Congressional candidate John Dennis personally delivered a formal invitation to debate to the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, located in the new downtown Federal Building (California 8th Congressional District, San Francisco, CA).

The written debate invitation, which included a request for response from the Congresswoman by Wednesday, September 22nd, was accepted by a staff member and delivered to Pelosi’s District Director.

“The voters need to compare and contrast our positions on the critical issues facing the district and the nation,” John Dennis said. “They need to know why she has turned her back on our district and reversed her position on many key issues. Ms. Pelosi has never explained these reversals, ranging from her support of the Patriot Act to voting to continue the Afghanistan war to supporting bank bailouts. Voters deserve to see how we compare on issues that affect every citizen in our district. This can only happen in a formal debate aired throughout San Francisco.”

    She is the current Speaker and her re-election by a huge margin is certain.
    In Nancy’s world she answers to no one.
    She would never put herself in an uncontrollable environment.
    Dennis will have to wait until she retires next year and take a shot at it again.

      You actually expect Pelosi to willingly retire? I don’t expect her to leave congress except 1 step ahead of an angry mob wielding a ballot box or in a body bag.

      The body bag is incredibly unlikely since I think she has the same sort of life expectancy that Castro does. I.E. until 5 minutes before the end of the world.

        If Nancy thinks she won’t ever be able to get back the Speaker position, I’ll bet you she steps down. She may think she can get it back in 2012 and so she will stick around.

        SF will never vote her out.

    where the candidates have their arms tied down. I don’t think she could complete a sentence without flailing her arms about like the robot in the original “Lost in Space”. Heck, she can barely complete a coherent sentence as it is.
