MEMBER DIARY

WE HAVE NO WARRIORS

Why is there no clear consistent Republican nominee? Because we have no warriors. We have no one who has clearly shown they have the knowledge and the passion of Conservatism combined with the urgency and understanding of what is going on in our country and how close we are to total destruction.

There have been surges and disappointments. There have been “false prophets” in the image of Palin, Rubio and Cain (all of them my favorite Conservatives). Why do I call them false? Because in the end, none of them “get” it. None of them understand that our country is ultimately much more important than THEIR lives and THEIR FAMILIES. Their unwillingness to run for president is proof that they don’t understand our current situation.

I can’t imagine George Washington deciding that the state of Virginia was more important than the new union of the United States. I can’t imagine Lincoln dropping out because intrusive opponents, whether lying or telling the truth, were digging into his past.

For God’s sake, candidates, act like you love the United States and the Constitution as much as the rest of us do. And act like you know what’s going on in the country. Spend two hours a day on the internet. I don’t want to hear about your immigration policy for the 16th time. There are at least ten stories a day you can find about economic disaster, Obamacare disaster or losses in our freedoms. Talk about it in realtime. Show that you’re in the loop. It’s embarrassing when you are in a debate and I know more about what’s going on in Libya, more about baseline budgeting or more about a recent unconstitutional executive order than you do. Embarrassing for YOU, that is, and you don’t even know it’s happening. You are all OLD SCHOOL. Your voters are becoming more knowledgeable than you are. You must KEEP UP. If Congress just originated a spending bill in the Senate, talk about it. The rest of us know it’s unconstitutional. Do you? Or aren’t you paying attention in between bus rides and kissing babies?

You have a new electorate to deal with. We’re more educated about what is going on than ever before and we keep in contact with each other. A lot of us are in the Tea Party and if you hang around or are endorsed by people who ridicule us (Karl Rove, Colin Powell, etc.), we won’t be voting for you.

You FAIL to consistently paint a picture of our future with more liberalism. Obama is bad, Obama is bad. Fine. That’s old news. Tell me what Obama and the Democrats did TODAY and how it affects everyone’s lives. Tell us what you would do differently. Have a spine. Defend conservatism. Defend us. Know what you’re talking about, feel it like we do and speak well about it. You should know where you stand on issues automatically. Don’t reach for words. It’s in your heart or it isn’t. And understand your place as a president. We know what the President can do and what Congress is supposed to do. Don’t act like we’re stupid. We’ve read the Constitution. Don’t over–promise something that you have no Constitutional authority to deliver.

And one more thing…What have any of YOU really lost in all of this? Just your privacy and your time. The rest of us have lost a lot more – our jobs, our homes, our incomes, our retirement, our freedoms. Every day it gets worse. If you don’t understand that the country is more important than you are, we don’t want you. We already have someone in the Oval Office who feels that way.

Will Boehner have a real primary challenger in 2012?

    Will Cantor?

The reason the Republicans we elected don’t “fight” for our liberties is because they don’t see their constituents organizing and uniting politically back in their districts to take them out in the primary elections. And they have no self-interest in telling their constituents to do so. Doing so would potentially imperil their reelection chances. It’s not their job (in their minds) to teach the unwashed masses.

Besides, it’s not exactly rocket science to find out where one’s local Republican Party meets, go to the meeting, find out “how it works” by asking questions and reading the local, county, state and RNC Rules/bylaws, and then recruit more like-minded people to get involved and take out the incumbent “Republicans” in the state legislature and U.S. House and Senate, if needed.

So much easier to go to a town hall meeting and rant, to rant on a blog, or to go to a “tea party” and hold a sign.

Keep in mind that despite three years of Obama and all of his blatantly unconstitutional and anti-American acts our Republican Party still, on average, in every locale, has a 50% vacancy rate in the local precinct committeemen ranks and about one-third of our precincts have ZERO Republican precinct committeemen.

If and when we conservatives unite and organize inside the Republican Party maybe, just maybe, we’ll have a chance to turn the tide — by actually successfully taking out RINO incumbents in the primary.

Dear conservative Redstate reader, can you? Will you?

Go to the links below if you are interested saving our republic.

    Time is of the essence.

    Thank you.

    ColdWarrior

P.S. Progress is being made in some locales and states. In my county, Maricopa, in Arizona, surrounding Phoenix, we’ve gone from 1,989 PCs in 2008 (about 31% of the allotted 6,471 slots being filled) to having 3,481 PCs (about 53% of our allotted slots (our allotment decreased due to a decline in the number of registered Republicans). How did that increase happen? Conservative PCs aggressively recruited conservatives from the “tea party” ranks — by going into these “target rich environments” and succinctly laying out The Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy. And what did we reap? Many, many more conservatives in the elected officer slots within the Party, including in the AZ GOP Chairman’s slot. And, we may even be electing more conservative RNC delegates in 2012.

He is probably less likely to have one at home. Unfortunately Boehner has found away around the 100 or so Tea Party supporters in Congress by bring in Democrats to get his squishy compromises through. There needs to be a coup in in the House GOP caucus and Boehner needs to be forced out.

      • thisisme7

ALL the Tea Party congressmen and women, they all like Boehner. Go watch any interview with any of them. If asked how they view Speaker Boehner, they all say they respect and like him very much… then again, the TP is full of backstabbing people so, maybe he will get some of them not to vote him as Speaker next time.
As for his primary “challenger” Boehner is going to win. The whole election. Boehner is going to win.

…unless there are warriors up and down the line.

We’re electing a President that won’t have ultimate power, but will have to work with many others to accomplish anything. Just because someone says the right things doesn’t mean they’d ever be able to do anything about it. Just look at Obama. His one legislative accomplishment is Obamacare. Everything else that he’s been able to do is through obstruction or executive fiat, all of which will be undone by any of the current Republican candidates as the next president.

      • wennejunk

I thought he stood back (leading from behind) and let the Dems in Congress slap the manure on the chicken wire to create their trojan horse.

We have plenty of warriors, far more than the Libs, but the difference is organization. We are only just now organizing, The Left wing has been organized for a hundred years.

Read wonkish1′s diary on “A New revolutionary etc” He points out this very process of organization and how it’s going to change things.

On occasions I too, get fed up when seeing what’s going on in this great country. I traveled a lot during my business career and have seen life in many countries. The US beats them all, hands down! And then to see what the a**holes on the left are trying to do just frosts me!

But let us remember Bob Dillon (sp?) “The Times They Are a Changin’ ” and I don’t think in the manner he espoused in his song. We are returning to that which make us great.

Be patient and continue to work toward that end. We’ll get there. Don’t look for a leader / warrior. Do as ColdWarrior just said. Let us each BE that warrior and a leader will emerge.

    • avgjo

eight years of fighting for freedom.

Can you name one person currently representing us who has such commitment or endurance? I can’t.

      • valrobex

Check out his history. The man is an incredible leader (and a combat leader at that.) The left has tried to ?tar ?n feather? him with disgrace but when you learn the true story you?ll be proud he?s in Congress.

Just remember, a senior officer can not use his rank in retirement if he is not honorably discharged.

I work a lot with our military folks and everyone who reaches senior Officer or senior Noncom rank has been a class act. Even though we haven?t met I?m convinced Allen West is also one of them. We haven?t heard the last of him. Check him out.

        • avgjo

George Washington took responsibility for things that weren’t his fault, like when the Continental Congress failed to get pay for the soldiers.

He froze, went hungry, got shot at, harangued and hounded by the British (who would have gladly put a noose around his neck for his troubles) for eight years.

I like Col.West, I admire him. I think he’s a smart, tough man like most of our military people. But his going along with the stinky budget deal Boehner ‘worked’ out for us puts him in a different class than Washington. Washington didn’t compromise on anything that threatened our liberty. That’s why, when given the opportunity to become King (which would have thrown the whole sacrifice of the revolution down the toilet), he refused.

King George didn’t think G.W. would turn down such an opportunity. He said that if Washington did so, he’d be the greatest man in the world. Truer words were never spoken.

          • valrobex

I didn?t know you were looking for a modern day George Washington. I thought you were looking for someone with character, tenacity, commitment, and integrity.

An individual like Washington (or Lincoln) generally comes along once a century. The 20th century had several incredible leaders who put their country / principles ahead of their own interests: Churchill, Ghandi, Pope John Paul II and perhaps to a lesser degree Lech Walesa of Poland.

I submit that we have some excellent leaders who fit the description above. If you?re looking for another Washington, who was more than just an excellent leader, you might be disappointed. We generally can not figure out who is guided by the hand of God until after their greatness is established.

          • avgjo

I’m looking for a Washington. And I was making the point that in order to get one, you have to change the culture.

It’s sort of like soil. You can get great crops from great soil. You’ll get crap from poor soil. If you’re getting crap and you want great crops, change the soil. Soil for America means culture.

I don’t deny that Col. West has character and the other traits you mentioned. But we need them in greater proportions than we find lately.

Some sentiments are ageless and the ones expressed in this diary entry are just a few of those.
History as we know it is coming to visit each and every one of us ,up close and personal. You, who are cynical or enough of a realist, are objective enough to know this to be true. Be Honest: Are you doing what you can, and feel comfortable with?
    Four more years of this Administration is not in the cards for anyone who values their freedom and liberty, as it was written, and envisioned. “Next Time”, will be too late. {What say YOU?}

  • avgjo

    we will not get warriors.

Wanna see real, lasting movement away from the crap course our country has taken over the last 100 years? Work on changing the culture.

  • lucasblack

I am now beginning an effort to draft Patty Smyth as the GOP nominee – she’s a warrior!
I do have some concerns about John McEnroe as First Husband, though…

  • valrobex

Our culture IS changing in a positive way back toward what we once were! Do you think RS is an anomaly? Check out Freedom works, Black Quill and Ink, Town Hall, CNS News, etc. We are getting organized and what are the principles being discussed? Conservatism! American exceptional-ism!

Observe how the Left?s hold on things is slipping away. The Bamster?s approval ratings are in the tank! Keep in mind; those polls are conducted by the MSM who slant them so he appears to have better approval than he actually does.

Speaking of the MSM, why are all the newspapers losing money? The network news shows are a shadow of what they once were. They simply can?t compete with the alternative conservative media.

The Tea party revitalized the Republicans in 2010 and will again in 2012. We Conservatives are taking over that old fossilized political party and making it our own. It will require a few more election cycles to cement Conservative control.

In the meanwhile, I refer you to the Guns ?n Roses song: ?Patience.?

    Keep the faith, Avgjo

FIRST off, I admire your direction and your optimism. I try to have it. But I want to assess our situation in what I believe is an honest way. I hope you’ll look at the following and critique it, but understand that in no way am I trying to finger wave or correct you.

    I’m talking primarily about values.

Courage is no longer considered a major virtue. That’s why ‘zero-tolerance’ rules against fighting in schools are widely tolerated by parents. Sure, many parents complain about them, but I know of no organized efforts to throw these trash bills out.

Life is not valued like it used to be. That’s why you can barely find a majority against abortion.I believe most people probably don’t like abortion, but they don’t want it illegal, just in case their daughter or girlfriend has an unexpected surprise. To use the words of the President, they don’t want ‘to be punished with a child’. One reason Social Security and other ‘entitlements’ are looming large is we have, as a country, killed off millions of taxpayers. But we have idiots writing books with goofy names making the argument that abortion is good for crime rates. We have serious discussions in this country about euthanasia and health care rationing (aka death panels). The fact that people who discuss such things are confident enough to talk about them in public tells you a lot about how weak and corrupt our culture has become.

I could go on, but you get the idea. I agree with you about the left. But many of the problems I mentioned and am I think about pervade the right and middle as well as the left. And I fear something even worse than the democrat party may emerge as a result.

Germany was a cultured, civilized country, full of hard-working, intelligent and decent people. After years of anti-JudaeoChristian, anti-God, anti-life philosophy, Kultur and education, that country was softened up to the point it ELECTED Adolf Hitler. Don’t think the same can’t happend to us.

  • valrobex

Have our values eroded? Without question; but just as it has taken a while for the erosion to occur, so too, it will take some time to reverse.

What I find encouraging is that the establishments of both political parties don?t understand the Tea Party. It does not ?compute.? The Tea party members don?t fit the usual mold. There’s no leader to attack or manipulate.

The Republican establishment may have thought it co-opted the movement. But look at how the Tea party freshmen representatives brought things to halt ? in other words they did not permit business as usual. Have some of these reps made mistakes? Sure, but they?re not dumb and given time, they will figure things out and will increase in power and influence; particularly as their numbers increase.

That?s why we Conservatives have to stay engaged. Support our candidates, even if we don?t agree with them on all issues. If you can, send financial aid and don?t be afraid to volunteer. It all helps.

And being a student of history I?m painfully aware of some of the similarities of our current events and the Weimar Republic. But there are also significant differences. One of the most important is what is called the alternative media. There was no internet, television, cable, etc., back then. And more people today are discussing Constitutional principles than perhaps in one hundred years. Keep the faith.

  • avgjo

I just don’t see many among our ‘conservative’ leadership espousing values. They all seem to have engaged in reductionism. Man is an economical creature, who operates entirely by economic principles as articulated by this school of thought or that. Listen to Rush or read HotAir, and you’ll rarely see an in-depth discussion about morals and the role they play in a free society. No, all you see is stuff about economic freedom. I can tell you as a student of history and watching it repeat itself again before my very eyes, you will not have economic freedom without moral rectitude.

THAT’S the whole reason I posted what I did. It is not to take from anything you said. I keep the faith, but with a clear understanding of what must be done to keep liberty alive on earth.
