MEMBER DIARY

I can no longer remain silent…

Like most conservatives, I’d prefer to keep a low profile and focus on my family, my job, my community and my hobbies. But in the face of the most radical lurch to the left in my lifetime (and I grew up in the Sixties!), I can no longer remain silent. As an affluent New Yorker, I am surrounded by the most egregious form of limousine liberals to whom the rules don’t apply, who wear ribbons and adorn their bumpers with “cause” stickers while attending only benefits where they can be seen and call that public service and charity, who have the attention span of gnats, and who repeat mainstream media soundbites like so many parrot/lemmings.I will no longer sit in the background. First I’ve got to get hold of my temper, for yes, I am an old, white guy who is ANGRY…angry at what’s happening to my country, and feeling powerless and humiliated that I can’t change things. I am looking for a NEW Contract with America and a new voice/personality who has the charisma, character, courage and leadership qualities to combat what at the moment seems to be an overwhelming tide of social progressivism. And while I know that in time, political correctness and secular liberalism will implode on itself, I shudder as I watch what damage it has already caused, and will cause, in this curent administrative embodiment.

I you are of like mind, I’d welcome hearing from you.

is just acceptance of the status quo…if WE do not STAND UP and FIGHT we are irrelevent to the cause of getting our country back to Founding Principals on which WE were founded.

I se you have been a member for quite some time, I am glad you finally came forward and are willing to speak out. It’s good to read your thoughts. I am also in the NE in VT. Hopefully we can take some seats back in 2010.

Good to have you on board, hope to see your thoughts in the comments and more diaries.

Boy, do I could not possibly agree more; As I said here before:

      http://www.redstate.com/daconia/2009/04/19/dear-harry-or-not-my-fathers-party/

There is an image from Dr. Zhivago that always stuck in my mind. They are in a box car being moved somewhere and with them is a young man in chains who berates them for being sheep. They say nothing. We can choose to be the sheep or risk the chains. I can only hope that still in my country, most of us will refuse to be sheep.

Those of us who feel the same need to band together somehow, to find ways to act. By no means are you alone, I hear of many of us.

Good luck from a fellow angry old white guy.

I make a lot less than you, but I totally understand your rage.

The liberals have finally awakened the sleeping giant that is the conservative freedom loving majority in the USA. We are just starting to shake off the cobwebs of sleep and just starting to move. The tea parties were just the beginning of this movement. I just hope we aren’t lulled back to sleep before we can move this country back to a free society.

I lived through the Jimmy Carter years and survived yet I do not ever remember feeling this angry. For me it is more about my gut that Obama does not love this country the way most of us do, maybe not at all. I don’t think he can articulate what it means to be an American without TOTUS. Went to the tea party 4/15 and for me there is no turning back now. I am committed to seeing the radicals thrown out of office. We have to stay involved and wake up those around us who aren’t paying attention yet. WE are the SILENT MAJORITY and we can be a force if we stay focused and involved. Welcome Treadstone – I know that there are thousands like us who are tuning in taking note.

Reached the same point here about the third week of Obama’s term. You wake up one day and realize that sitting on the fence just you means you have a fencepost up your ***.

Two years ago, if someone had told me I would be a political activist, I would have laughed until I cried. I’m the least likely person to be considered such because I’m by nature an introvert and very much a hermit in my habits.

Welcome to RedState, treadstone. I know how you feel.

We don’t have precinct committeemen here, but we do have county committeemen.

Read this and this and find out what it’s like to be a precinct committeeman. Step out of your shell. Try it.

saw this coming in September, volunteered to work phones for the election for first time in my life in November. I am now a member of the REC in my county and doing what I can to assist and leartn the ropes and process.

I am also challenging and preparing for the “worst” without elaboration. I am at a point that I feel we hve a very short period to turn back the tide of socialism. If we do not, then I am content to let it collapse and start over to rebuild it the way the founding fathers intended.

As much as I worry about the direction of the country, I do not fear the future. I am content to accept God’s will on this and I have unbridled faith in the core values of the American People and their commitment to freedom and liberty.

By the way, I have seen the groundswell of people that feel like us coming forward with the same commitment as those of us posting here. Thye may not be clear about how to proceed, but they are committed to the same end goals as we are.

I also want to say I feel as if I am in very good company. Time is short, make the most, get involved. do not worry about doing the “right” jjust “do” and trust your judgement. If you are reading this blog, you already have what it takes (unless you are a troll).

I deal with the same “cause” liberals in my world too. I used to laugh at them behind their backs in the privacy of my own home. Since February 2009, I challenge them. I challenge them every chance I get. Not rude, not hateful – just blunt, honest truth laden challenges.

Long may our new political activism rave!

        • avgamerican

We need to use what freedom we have left to saturate every media outlet to voice our disapproval. Keep the pressure up. Do not let them have the last word. Write Congress the White House whatever, but keep pounding.

      • Rod_Patrick

We are actually a MILITIA fighting for our country and our freedom.

An every patriotic America should join the MILITIA.

        Our Enemy?

        European style of liberalism.

        Socialim.

        Jihadism.

        Anti-American style of moral relativism.

Since our enemies are now in the control of the Government doing everything they can to control and “remake” us… we are now also fighting against blatant STATISM /FASCISM.

I hope the liberal establishment understands that if America suffers another 9/11 attack or military disaster, their eloquent enchanted leader will be accountable along with them. This president is a ticking time bomb for the United States. I think he will dwarf Jimmy Carter. What president has ever talked about and with terrorists and dictators as though they were friends?

        • spedteacher

…and in such a short amount of time as well.

This means his “friendships” will continue for 3.5 more years at our expense.

I escaped Noo Yawk a while back (I’m in South Flori-duh near Ft. Lauderdale).

If you can make the move, get out of the Northeast. My gut feeling is that NYC is gonna go the way of Detroit by the end of this year (but much worse) and take most of the State with it.

If you’re not doing anything this weekend, head over to Glenside PA (Keswick Theater) – very good music festival there – good way for some melodic decompression.

        Cheers !

Treadstone, I feel the exact same way. I’m pretty much a wallflower when it comes to social situations. I’d prefer to blend into the background and stay out of controversy, but now that I’m in my late 20′s with 2 children to think of, I can no longer be silent.
While always very opinionated, I usually kept my opinion to myself. Not anymore–because I know that there is too much to lose.
I’ve lost several long time friends due to my new found political openness, but I don’t regret it.
My children and future grandchildren rely on people like you and me to keep them from waking up one day in a facist nightmare.
I pray that the people in this country with the same values will make their voices heard. Our freedom depends on it.
