A Brief Note to GOP Elected Officals…

In which I take on a role I know very well… that of a Father.

From here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/17532.html

We get the news that The One is coming ‘courting’

It’s no secret Barack Obama is trying to seduce Republicans these days. But his conservative courting runs much deeper and wider than is publicly known.

Obama has had meetings with his former opponent John McCain, GOP congressional leaders and some of the country’s leading conservative commentators. He’s also honoring McCain and Colin Powell in high-profile pre-inaugural dinners, where Obama is expected to toast the Republicans.

Behind the scenes, Obama and his team are working just as hard, courting prominent Republicans and conservatives through frequent phone calls, e-mails and private sit-downs.

I sit with you now and tell you… all of you… as I tell my Daughters:

“You lay down with dogs… you get up with fleas”

In the end all you ever have is family and if you shame them ‘enough’ they stop caring. You go off running around with some young good looking smooth talking little POS like Him, we may not be here when you get back… all used, abused and cast aside. Because you know that all he’s ever going to do is blow sweet smoke up your… ear, then ‘take’ you in the rear and once he no longer needs you kick you to the curb.

Got it?

Make sure you do… or next time you want something (money… votes) I won’t be there.

You just get dirty and the pigs will laugh at you for being so stupid.

And our recent nominee. And a dozen or so others.

While I agree with you, the words, I’m afraid, are wasted. Our reps, much like teenagers, seem to care more for the approval of their peers than their parents and we likely won’t be able to punish them in any significant way. I mean really, do you think either Hatch or McCain will face a serious primary challenge or a serious general challenge? Or Graham?

… not because they are easy but because they are hard”

If we do not fight, then who will?
If the fight is not now, then when?
If the fight is not over this… then what is it to be over?

What Sir, would you ask me to give up so that we could win?

What Sir would you give away to secure such a victory?

I tell you now Sir… the fight is here, the fight is now, and it is over our principles, and it is for the soul of our party. It is for the future of our children and it is for the existence of our nation.

We must now take back our party and then our country… nothing less will do.

        FIGHT!

Um…courting Conservatives?…I was unaware McCain and Powell were Republicans anymore?!

  • Hammer2008

As Rush appropriately pointed out Friday. With so many republicans ditching conservatism and becoming moderate pushovers, perhaps we are the RINOs.

  • AceInTX

Maybe Conservatives should claim the title for themselves since the Moderate/Liberal Republicans seem to object to it being used on them…maybe we could turn the tables and let the term “Republican” come to denote absolute fealty to big spending anti SoCon policy for those not in the Democrat Party and let RINO describe those of us that would set fire to ourselves before we’d be Democrats but are embarrassed by the liberalism that has taken over the Republican Party?!

  • Martin Knight

Heck, right now, I’m in favor of Conservatives joining the RMSP en masse and changing its charter after we’ve become the majority.

But to be honest, this is part of a larger point. The Democrats’ Left-Wing allies in the Press, Academia and Entertainment, with a great deal of help from the Chafee-Whitman wing of the GOP have done a tremendous job in recasting ordinary common sense conservative positions on the issues as “extreme”, “divisive”, “provocative”, “racist”, “sexist”, etc.

And I’m just talking about School Choice.

The GOP needs to get back into the culture and narrative wars, and that means shutting down the Fifth Column in our ranks. Hence, I propose that Conservatives join every single so-called “moderate” Republican organization in massive numbers and move them sharply to the Right.
