Joe Walsh on his political future

On Saturday during a town hall meeting in Wauconda, Illinois congressman Joe Walsh talked about his future.  He would say that, “It’d be kinda fun to run against Dick Durbin”.  Congressman Walsh would also say that the state of Illinois and, “This Republican Party needs a Scott Walker to run for Governor”.  He would go on to say that he hasn’t seen nor heard that Scott Walker type step forward yet.  If I may be so bold I have heard and seen Illinois’ version of Scott Walker and his name is Joe Walsh.

Joe Walsh is a fun guy, but hes no Scott Walker.
Scott Walker was a successful businessman who could provide real world solutions that appealed to moderates and conservatives a like.
Joe Walsh was a political gad fly, who became a “conservative” to ride a wave of conservatism in 2010. He did a good job as a one term congressman, but was a sitting duck from the day he won in his district. He has little statewide appeal and is viewed as a polarizing and divisive figure.
I’d prefer Dillard or Ryan (really i’d love Edgar to give it a go again) and guys like Schock and Shimkus over Joe Walsh.

All of the people you just named are moderates and or a part of IL’s GOP establishment. Edgar just got done lending his support to legislation that would give illegal’s drivers licenses in this state. I will pass on all of them thank you very much. I follow the Limbaugh rule and in Illinois Joe Walsh is the most conservative political figure we have, period.

really? was he the most conservative political figure when he ran his first campaign as a pro-choice moderate? Hes an opportunist, and hes unelectable. I wouldnt call Schock and Shimkus moderates, and the key point? all of them could WIN.

As for giving drivers licenses to illegals i see NOTHING wrong with this as long as the licenses state the lack of citizenship status. I’d much rather have them forced to take the test rather than just driving rampant illegally across the chicagoland.

@redstate-a76161e7bb2eacf1d701204ceed953e2:disqus with comments like that I have no choice but to brand you a RINO, and for the record Joe Walsh has always been pro life

          • revtm

Haha nothing i’ve said is RINO in ANYWAY.

How quickly everyone forgets Joe Walsh ran as a self-proclaimed moderate in 1996, He ran as pro-choice, pro-LGBT rights (Including gays in the military).

          • revtm

In fact Walsh Himself even admits to being pro-choice in his 2 prior campaigns (1996, 1998). Perhaps it is you who is the RINO for so vehemently supporting a candidate who has said himself he is a moderate in the past and has a pro-choice past…

Joe Walsh should move to Oklahoma, Idaho, Alabama, Mississippi, or maybe my home state of Georgia! :) Then, he could live there for a few years and run for congress. Illinois is not that friendly to conservatives, and he would have difficulty winning there.

He is one of my favorite representatives. He was one of the few who lost that I’ll really miss in congress.
