America Is To Blame For The Massacre in Connecticut

An editorial, by Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com I believe in the right to own a gun.  As a conservative, I believe in a right to be able to defend myself and my home, and I believe that right is all the more necessary in today’s America.  As a skeptic, I doubt that an outright ban on firearms would accomplish much more than to disarm the | Read More »

Taxpayer Funded Sex Change Operations For Prisoners, and Other Fluke-ing Crazy Ideas

by Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com In another sign that the liberal half of our government has gone completely off the deep end, a federal judge in Massachusetts has ruled that taxpayers must pay for the sex change operation of an incarcerated murderer. The plaintiff in this action, Robert Kosilek, who was convicted of murdering his wife in 1990, convinced Judge Mark Wolf that for the Department | Read More »

    Barack Obama’s 20 Most Impossibly Self-Absorbed Moments

An editorial, by Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com   SOLIPSISM [sol-ip-siz-uhm] (noun): 1) Philosophy: the theory that only the self exists, or can be proved to exist. 2) Extreme preoccupation with and indulgence of one’s feelings, desires, etc.; egoistic self-absorption. 3) Barack Obama.   President Obama is undoubtedly many things to many people.  Liberals see him as a genius, conservatives see him as a meddlesome dilettante. | Read More »

The “Buffet Rule” and the Hidden Attack on the Church

By Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com   The best politicians are part con artist and part magician. Con artists fool their victims by exploiting their desire to believe something. Magicians fool their audiences through sleight-of-hand. Great politicians do both at the same time.   Consider the never ending class warfare rhetoric that has been intensifying of late from the dark nether regions of liberal America. | Read More »

    A Deeply Flawed President

An editorial by Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com Now that President Obama’s policies have proven to be a massive failure in every sense of the word, the liberal spin machine has been kicked into overdrive.  But because liberalism can never be the problem, the latest leftist apologetic dogma holds that the real cause of the President’s unpopularity and ineffectualness is that the President is too far | Read More »

    We Are John Galt

An editorial, by Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com: Can it really get much worse than this? The stock market is becoming increasingly volatile.  State insolvencies seem ever more inevitable.  The housing market is nearing collapse.  Gas prices are hovering around $4 per gallon, and we refuse to drill.  Inflation is at five percent.  47 million Americans are on food stamps.  True unemployment is around 16%,which is nearly | Read More »

Bin Laden’s Death Was A Happy Letdown

By Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com Learning of the death of Osama bin Laden was one of those rare moments in life, the kind that cause us to realize instantly that we will always remember where we were when it happened. Like many Americans, the last time I had experienced such a moment was a related event, when almost ten years previous when I had returned | Read More »

    Abortion, Inc.

An editorial by Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com: This past week, a shutdown of the federal government was narrowly avoided when Republicans and Democrats reconciled their differences and, cognizant of the massive, unsustainable deficits we are running, heroically cut a whopping one percent out of a budget that has nearly doubled since Bill Clinton left office.  The hang-up, however, was not so much on the amount | Read More »

The President’s Non-Answers Regarding the Non-War in Libya

By Jordan Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com   As American military operations continue in Libya at a cost of $100 million per day, the President finally saw fit this past Monday to address the American people on the matter, after nine days of combat and not a word from our Commander in Chief since its inception.   The President began his twenty-minute speech by saying he wanted “to | Read More »

James O’Keefe: The Most Trustworthy Name In News

By Jordan B. Rickards, www.RickardsReview.com “There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.” — Oscar Wilde   The guerilla journalist James O’Keefe strikes again.  The man who exposed Planned Parenthood accepting donations for race-based population control, and ACORN employees eager to aid in | Read More »

Save Money And Reduce Crime By Treating Criminals Like Criminals

The lead story of the March 3, 2011, edition of the Newark Star Ledger, citing the need for New Jersey to reform its prison system in light of the sixty percent recidivism rate for incarcerated criminals, missed the mark entirely. The focus of the article was the unchallenged solution, presented by the Manhattan Institute, to give criminals jobs so they have a legitimate source of income. While this makes for pleasant sounding theory, the practical effect is to reward bad behavior at the expense of the law abiding population. (continued)

High Speed Rail Shows That Liberals Are On The Wrong Track

To liberals, high speed rail is not really about creating an efficient alternative method of transportation; that’s merely the pretext. This is really more about ideology. Remember, liberals are group and government oriented, which is what trains represent. Trains group all manner of people together into one cohesive unit, and transport them on vehicles controlled by central planners. Individuals are reduced to cogs in a great machine, boarding and disembarking on a schedule, and travelling at a predetermined speed. Cars, on the other hand, are individual and private, which liberals hate. Nothing is more antithetical to the group than individualism, and nothing is more antithetical to central control than the exercise of private will and freedom. (continued)

Liberalism Proves It Is Possible To Be Prejudiced Against All Races

By Jordan B. Rickards www.RickardsReview.com Liberals only have three modes of attack: anyone who opposes them is stupid, and/or an extremist, and/or a bigot.  By far and away, the most relied upon, most effective, and least challenged of these methods is the last, and it’s not difficult to understand why.  To successfully brand an opponent as a racist is to discredit him for life.  Hence, | Read More »

Repeal of Individual Mandate Was Obama’s Plan All Along

From the diaries by Leon… With news that a federal judge in Florida has declared the entirety of Obamacare to be unconstitutional, the left has reacted with predictable outrage. Cries of “activism” have echoed throughout the editorial pages, news networks, and university halls, and just about everywhere else liberals dominate. But while Democrats express their near uniform consternation, there is one notable leftist who is | Read More »

Egypt: A Tale Of Two Philosophies

Egypt, one of the world’s oldest civilizations and arguably its first great empire, today finds itself in the throes of birthing pains attendant to progress. As the world watches waves of protestors crowding the streets, it is important to recognize that this uprising is not simply a popular revolt pitting the people against their government. It is clash of ideological movements whose respective beliefs and differences are personified in the form of two very distinct leaders. One leader represents the old world, dark, repressive, and backwards, while the other represents change, democracy, and an opportunity for renewed foreign relations. And no, the two men are not current President Hosni Mubarak and de facto opposition leader Mohamed Mustafa ElBaradei. Rather, the two ideologically polarized figures of whom we speak are President Obama 2011, and President Obama 2009.
