Obama and the Indians-This land is your land? This land is my land! Stage 2
By: Karina (Diary) | November 11th at 12:06 PM |
If you are just joining me in this rabbit hole without reading my Stage 1 postfor background, you might want to hop out and do that first. There’s some background in that one which this post is built upon. That ended with bill to give the Secretary of the Interior the ability to decide which tribe becomes federally recognized, thus enabling him to take land | Read More »
Obama and the Indians-this land is your land, this land is my land-Stage 1
By: Karina (Diary) | November 10th at 08:25 PM |
While watching events unfold concerning the Ft Hood massacre last week, I was struck like many, over Obama’s apparent callousness. Before addressing that tragedy, he felt no unease about joking with the audience before him. Why were those people more important than speaking to the nation about a possible terror attack on our own soil? That got me wondering what kind of group it was | Read More »
Thoughts on 9/11
By: Karina (Diary) | September 8th at 07:04 AM |
With 9/11 coming on Friday, I have been thinking inevitably back on that day and on subsequent ones in the past few years. I wanted to put my thoughts together and see how things have changed, how I have changed since then. I’m sure there will be a lot of commentary this week on the same subject but this is for me. On September 10th, | Read More »
First a Communist advisor…now Communist flag on WH lawn. WHAT?!?
By: Karina (Diary) | September 4th at 05:42 AM |
On Sept 20th, the Peoples Republic of China flag will be flying high and proud in front of our own White House. Talk about the audacity of change! Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President’s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC. Apparently, the U.S. has beholden themselves so much | Read More »
House Dems sacrifice for the good of the country
By: Karina (Diary) | June 21st at 05:40 AM |
Well, no not really. Did you honestly think that would happen? I ran across the latest legislation passed on Friday which included their budget for 2009/2010 fiscal year. Blood shot out of my eyes. I’m including a few of the great highlights but you can find the full text here. HOUSE LEADERSHIP OFFICES For salaries and expenses, as authorized by law, $25,881,000, including: Office of | Read More »

The Philadelphia Women’s Center gave out free abortions today in honor of Dr. Tiller. The news went out on Twitter: Philadelphia Women’s Center is performing FREE ABORTIONS today in honor of Dr. Tiller. Right on, PWC. The news was confirmed by someone working at the clinic. A worker at the clinic said that an unspecified number of abortions had been performed during the day, but that they | Read More »
Your private property under attack from unions?
By: Karina (Diary) | May 28th at 02:16 PM |
It sounds like a stretch, I know, but stay with me on this. Currently, there is a bill in the Senate called the Clean Water Restoration Act (S. 787) to change the wording of the Federal Water Polution Control Act of 1972 to include both navigable and unnavigable waters on public and private lands. This is being reported as supported by sportsmen across the country for | Read More »
ABC: Soros, Turner, Winfrey et al new Superheroes
By: Karina (Diary) | May 22nd at 10:03 AM |
Apparently we missed the cast change but we have a new set of superheroes. George Soros, Ted Turner, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg, David Rockefeller recently met to discuss “charitable giving”. Really? Somehow, I think they talked about things other than a new homeless shelter in DC. Here’s the report from ABC complete with the new cartoon. Here they come to save the day!
Only 24% of Americans think Cap and Trade is about the environment
By: Karina (Diary) | May 16th at 05:06 PM |
This disgusts me. Frankly, I’m appalled and embarassed for my fellow countrymen. I can understand how easy it is to tune out the news sometimes and just watch mindless tv. I do it myself (or my husband makes me when I start throwing things at the tv again). But we have a duty and a responsibility in this country to try to keep our politicians | Read More »
Is Pelosi the latest to be thrown under the Obama bus?
By: Karina (Diary) | May 15th at 09:21 AM |
Looking at events this week, I’d say yes. I am just as happy as anyone that Nancy P. is (hopefully) getting her just desserts. (Happy dance) But something is bothering me. Why is the White House so quiet on this subject this week? Why are CNN, MSM and others in attack mode when usually they would be circling the wagons and spitting bluster everywhere? Senate redefining the “Waters of the U.S.”-less freedom for you
By: Karina (Diary) | May 10th at 06:43 PM |
Under a new act, see Clean Water Restoration Act S.787, Democrats are trying to change the definition of “Waters of the United States” to include ALL waters. This would include navicable AND unnavicable if they have their way. Ponds, streams and runoff from rain into temporary streamlets on private property will be under federal jurisdiction and control. Private land/water use will be subject to licensing, permits | Read More »
Hawaii has new “Islam Day”
By: Karina (Diary) | May 7th at 04:49 PM |
State lawmakers signed into law yesterday that formed “Islam Day” in Hawaii. They just want to “recognize ‘the rich religious, scientific, cultural and artistic contributions’” of Islam. Does anyone else think this is scary? Is this the U.S. or England and France. We’ve seen how well bowing to Islams demands do for those countries in the past. This was the beginning for them. Then there were | Read More »
We can stop ACORN from getting fed $-call your congressmen and women
By: Karina (Diary) | May 7th at 05:15 AM |
There’s an amendment being voted on today in the House which will stop Acorn (or entities like it) from getting federal money if it is under indictment for voter fraud. This is not a watered down amendment pertaining only to convictions at the top levels. Introduced by Rep Bachmann (R-MN), it would effectively put a stop to the gushing of taxpayer money into their hands. | Read More »
DOHS recalls latest lexicon
By: Karina (Diary) | May 6th at 08:32 AM |
Once again, Homeland Security is running into problems with their definitions. In addition to labelling anti-abortion and illegal-immigration activists as domestic extremists, they go on to say that A “left-wing extremist” is described as someone who opposes war or is dedicated to environmental and animal rights causes, while a “right-wing extremist” is someone who is against abortion or for border enforcement. Follow the Money?
By: Karina (Diary) | May 6th at 08:16 AM |
The Times is reporting on the latest stimulus spending oversight meeting. How can they follow the money when no one is doing the following? Instead, they say it’s up to US the taxpayers to find out where it’s going! “We are, in essence, deputizing the entire American citizenry to help with the oversight of this program,” said Rep. Brad Miller, chairman of the House Committee | Read More »

Ms. Nord defended the trips as legal and bemoaned the overall criticism as unfair. She | Read More »
Are Tea Partiers coming apart at the seams?
By: Karina (Diary) | May 5th at 11:06 AM |
It sounds like it according to an email from one Tea Party organizer. Eric Odom, from TaxDayTeaParty.com, sent out an email sounding disappointed that things were not moving forward the way he had hoped in the aftermath. Read the whole Huff Post article here. I’m writing you because I find the Tea Party effort in a very disconcerting position at the moment… Since day one, | Read More »
Cow eaten by hungry men
By: Karina (Diary) | May 3rd at 07:36 AM |
I’m sorry. I thought this article was funny as much as a sad state of our country right now. A story from the AP tells of an 18 and 21year old stealing a calf, killing it with arrows then cutting off steaks and eating it at their campsite. They were unemployed and hungry. Stubbe said the two “decided they wanted something to eat,” led the calf | Read More »
Obama newspeak or doublethink?
By: Karina (Diary) | May 3rd at 06:25 AM |
In a Friday New York Times article, Seeking to Save the Environmentwith a Thesaurus, environmentalists and the Obama White House were reported to be trying out new names for global warming and cap and trade. New studies have been done and Congress and the Administration are being told the new names they can use in their talking points. I wonder how many of them we will | Read More »
