The SCOTUS just granted a stay for the drawing of the Texas Congressional and State House Maps drawn by 3 judges in San Antonio. Siena poll out this morning finds Robert Turner (R) has taken a six point lead over David Weprin (D), 50% to 44%. Turner has an overwhelming 90-6 percent lead among Republicans, Weprin has only a 63-32 percent lead among Democrats, and Turner has a 38-point lead among likely independent voters. The first recall election is Tuesday and it happens to be a Democrat facing the voters is Green Bay State Senator Dave Hansen. Hansen won his seat in 2000 by defeating a Republican Incumbent and was re-elected in 2004 and 2008 and is a teacher. He is also Assistant Minority leader. Sen. Daniel Akaka (D-HI) announced that he will not run for re-election in 2012, theHonolulu Advertiser reports. Even though its an opening its still gonna be tough for Republicans.
