MEMBER DIARY

Who is more middle class than Sarah Palin?

How many of you have dreamed of "one of us" being elected to high office?

No one. No one is more middle class than Sarah Palin. No candidate, in my admittedly limited political memory, has ever really fit the definition of “one of us”. I always thought that if someone had the “pull”, connections and money to get elected President or Vice President , couldn’t really be one of us.

But Sarah Palin is still one of us. She is a small business owner. She and her husband belong to unions. She has five kids, and all of the common problems that every American family faces. She was on the freaking PTA!

The McCain campaign needs to use her to neutralize all of the identity and class warfare politics that Obama is trying to play. She can reinforce the twin ideas of personal responsibility and accountability. She can talk about what middle class mother face better than anyone. She can talk about the benefits of limited government and lower taxes, and they can’t paint her as out of touch.

I know this is short for a diary, and I apologize. But, I don’t have a lot of time and wanted to get this idea out for discussion.

Sarah Palin just gets better and better.

God forbid that one of Obama’s daughter’s were to become pregnant out of wedlock. Republican talk shows would foam at the mouth with all the talk of moral issues and family values.
However let a white republican sehnator’s daughter get pregnant and suddenly children are responsible for their own decisions. I cannot fathom the level of hypocrisy that has infiltrated the republican base.

    boring, really.

Sarah Palin is appealing to voters because she is so “normal”. Unlike President Bush who was marketed as the guy you could have a beer with, Gov. Palin is nothing but authentic. She got to where she is because people kept saying that people like her should run for __. She did and kept winning.
She faces real life problems and has to make real life choices. Reality, Not political theory.
She and her daughter needed to make a decision about their unborn children. They realized that life is not about being selfish, it is about sacrifice for those in need. All life is a gift, not a “punishment” as Obama is quoted to have called it if his daughters should get pregnant.

Name one family member of an elected official the “Republican talk shows” have “foamed at the mouth” over? Name one prick. That or go away.

You’re probably the third or fourth poster to use “hypocrites” today. You’re really quite unoriginal. What, did Markos send out his orders to you with a list of talking points to use at RS? You need to feed some more phrases into your generator, because this one’s being over-used.

But I guess when you’re getting your butt kicked by the Republicans, you forget how to do anything else. Sucks to be a Dem right now, doesn’t it?

Impressive; this may be the actual nadir of how badly you people react to being so scared of Palin.
