The Anti-Cap and Trade Video That Embarrassed the EPA

That's a nice wind turbine you've got there. It'd be a shame if anything happened to it...

Laurie Williams and Allan Zabel are lawyers in the Environmental Protection Agency’s San Francisco office. They are also married to each other. Williams and Zabel are Global Warming “true believers”. They’ve done the research, and they think the Waxman-Markey-Boxer-Kerry Cap and Trade scheme is a very bad idea.

So they wrote a position paper for the website www.carbonfees.org. They wrote an editorial that was published in The Washington Post.

And they made the following video:

Their conclusion — that what we need is a big old tax on fossil fuels with energy rebates back to folks to help them buy more renewable energy — is harebrained, but on the way there they make a good case that the Cap and Trade offsets are just an invitation for hustlers to game the system.

According to The New York Times:

The Environmental Protection Agency has directed two of its lawyers to makes changes to a YouTube video they posted that is critical of the Obama administration’s climate change policy.

The agency, citing federal policies, told the two lawyers… that they could mention their E.P.A. affiliation only once; must remove language specifying Mr. Zabel’s expertise and their years of employment with the agency; and must remove an image of the agency’s office in San Francisco.

They have been told that if they do not edit the video to comply with the policy, they could face disciplinary action.

The video has been pulled from YouTube, but is still available at the website of The Heritage Foundation.

Ms. Williams, Mr. Zabel, something tells me now would be a good time to pull out that resume and give it a quick once-over…

the EPA “policy” would be MIA???

because I disagree on the fundamental premise that AGW is supported by sufficient scientific evidence to justify the massive government interference in the economy represented by the carbon-fees-with-rebates plan.

That said, the rest of the video is very well done and accurately portrays this as yet another Democratic boondoggle to reward favored contributors.

this is not the first time that employees from a Federal agency have come out with a report that was critical of their departments or another branch of Government. The issue I take with the excuse is that these people have done these videos or reports on their own time. A case I am all too familiar with and one time in the future I will write about it once the case is closed- Until such time as I can talk about this case I will provide the following link http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:SvZberDUGiEJ:oversight.house.gov/documents/20090513183712.pdf+franz+gayl&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

This guy is going nowhere for the time being, but my opinion of the man is he is a fraud. And when this is all over and the IG report is shown I will write about the case on Redstate. It is another example of bureaucracy gone wild and someone with nefarious aims abusing the whisteblower protection act.

Anyway, long story short these lawyers have a case to make that they can not be silenced in their private lives and their own personal opinions. From the case I have knowledge about, the way he got around it was he said he did the report on his own time and does not reflect the opinions of the Marine Corps or DoD.

Lastly, Global Warming is a farce and to suggest that we do something about it through taxation is further evidence that lawyers should not speak for scientists. I still have not seen the evidence yet, that CO2 has anything to do with glacier melting, I would surmise that large particulates from China and the 3rd world factories has more to do with glacial melting then a rise in temperature of 1 degree.

Oh, I can not wait to talk about the story I linked to and break it wide open.

We need the exact opposite! Shale oil and tar sands are DOMESTIC energy.

So the wizards of smart are finally seeing that the Cap and Trade “solution” is a gigantic scam. Great.

Slowly… Surely… They’ll get the rest of the way there.

      I hope so!

OK, the pictures of the shuttle disaster were just creepy at 00:39 of the clip. What, no pictures of Chernobyl? Oh yeah, no Americans killed… zero rhetorical value in that.

At 01:01 there’s a picture that looks like it was taken for a college recruitment brochure. A black face, a white puppy, a metrosexual wearing an 11 year-old Tshirt – it’s an artifact – no God fearing red blooded American males get 11 years usage out of Tshirts. I’m only curious, how much for the girls?

I really have no use for hothouse lawyers. These chuckleheads haven’t seen the inside of a courtroom except in the movies. I say a pox on both their horses. I wouldn’t let lawyers like this defend me on a DUI. I hope they get fired.

Here it comes……. Bend over down under.

Australia is likely to have an emissions trading scheme locked in by the end of next week, with the Government caving in to a key Coalition demand to permanently exclude the farming sector.

In a significant concession, and a huge win for the powerful farming lobby, a senior Government source revealed Labor will this week agree to exclude agriculture from the scheme ”indefinitely” – knocking out a key sticking point in negotiations with the Opposition.

Bye-bye Australian economy and whatever freedoms the people there have remaining.
