That’s what Barack Obama said today when John McCormick of the Chicago Tribune tried to ask about Rahm Emanuel’s contacts with the Blagojevich team. Obama said, “It would be inappropriate for me to comment…and I don’t want to get into the details at this point.” So a short time later, McCormick came up with a more acceptable question: “Do you or [Secretary of Education-designate Arne Duncan] have a better jump shot?” The whole thing had a “Saturday Night Live” feel to it. The interaction with McCormick stood out from previous meetings with the press. And speaking about the exchange on MSNBC shortly after, NBC Washington bureau chief Mark Whitaker said that reporters have not been aggressive enough during Obama’s post-election pressers.

“Our job is to hold him to account,” Whitaker said, adding that he thinks “we’re going to have to get tougher.”

America ’s major media has protected him, lied for him, slandered and libeled his Presidential opponents and viciously attacked and labeled anyone who questions his value as “Conspiracy Nuts” or “Racists”.

That is about to change. America’s major media has as a sole function, not to report the news, but to shape public opinion. During his campaign, they shaped Obama into a patient and compassionate gift from Heaven. Now, slowly, they are asking questions about him. Soon, they will shape his image into a hideous beast beyond comprehension. The evidence is available to prove that his ideals, his policies and his stated goals are to transform America into something the Nazis could only dream about: Youth Corps, Forced labor, socialism for the rich, paid for by the poor, military in America’s streets, all leading to complete absolute domination over the American people.

America ’s people will not and are not accepting Obama. The American media is just now realizing that American’s are nowhere near as ignorant and complacent as they thought. And they are learning that World leaders are beginning to question Obama’s desires for the World.

I applaud Carol Marin for reporting this issue. It’s important for the press to truly be the 4th estate and not let themselves be controlled by any part of the government. But the idea that Obama is the first president to do this is pretty silly.

What did you expect; your media is a one night stand. He gave you pleasure at being able to worship at his feet; you gave him the presidents house. Mr. Obama administration thinks in his eyes a fair trade, now go sit down until he needs you to cover his butt again.

I have a series of questions that could assist you.

Did you pay your dues to the “One” to be allowed to ask questions?
Did you provide absolute positive coverage of his since childhood?
Have you provide physical or emotional respite in the last 12 hours?
Have you provided Chicago style kickbacks today?

If you answered “No” to any of these questions then that is the reason they are not talking to you. Change your ways and you will be forgiven.

This is precisely the way that tin-pot dictators manage their “press opportunities”. Far from transparency, we are all being sold a bill of goods that–unfortunately–52% of the population is willing to buy.

I was apalled by the HRC love-fest yesterday, at what should have been an earnest grilling of a very troublesome nominee for the important post of Secretary of State. Where were all of the pertinent, probing questions? All we got was pap. And Solis, as Labor Secretary nominee, chose not to answer most of the questions asked of her…no outrage whatsoever from the republican committee members. What the hell is going on? Have all of our republican representatives been gelded? I really fear that they are going to sit back and accept being led by their noses through the forseeable future.

Does it matter who he takes questions from? It’s not like they don’t all come from the same mind-meld liberal bubble anyway.

You must remember that the press doesn’t regard itself as important to the Republic, they ARE the Republic. This charade of press conferences will last a while but it will wear thin. A mistake here or there by the Bammer in policy or tactics, a scandal or two, and the cracks in the monolithic, protective cover will appear.
Editors will start to wonder why they have WH reporters who act as wallpaper and goaded by their employers some will recover their voices.

Honeymoons don’t last forever and the morons who constitute the press corps truly believe they’re bigger than presidents, even in time, the Bam. All it takes is a few whose insufferable and misplaced pride can’t take it anymore.

And thank God we have an alternative media to hold some feet to the fire.

Water is filling the four compartments that will lead to its sinking (not completely, but to levels a mere shadow of their former presence.

Profits, or lack-of-profits, will do that. The MSM, perhaps somewhat unconsciously, and perhaps somewhat intentionally, decided that it should become the Barack Obama Fanclub to stay relevant. In doing so, they’ve lost me for good.
