The media that elected this guy, getting shafted and shut down and how they react to it, could have real entertainment value. I would love to watch these people eat crow.

In order to control the messages that he is trying to sell to the American citizens, he has to control the route (the media.)

And for someone so brilliant, how could TheOne think that he could walk into a room full of reporters and not be asked questions? Like gamecock says, I’m sure he won’t be doing anymore “casual drop-ins” with the media.

I want to add something totally off-topic here but am I the only one bothered by his use of “my fellow citizens” when he addresses the nation? I admit to hating it when McCain used to use the “my friends” phrase but I get the feeling that when TheOne uses the “my fellow citizens” address, he’s not really speaking to Americans but to the world at large. Kinda like being a citizen of the world and not of the United States. I’m not articulating this very well, I know. But the first time I heard him use that phrase as the President, it made my hair stand on end. Maybe it sounded too much like “my fellow comrades” to me.

They are lodged firmly up Barack Obama’s backside.

At least it looks like SOME of the media are trying to extricate themselves, but they were embedded so far it will take a while.

Am I the only one reminded of the Seinfeld episode in which Jerry’s girlfriend looked great or horrible depending on the angle/light? I notice official photos of the Messiah show him at his best, and press and candid photos make him look ghastly. Hey, we can all be gussied up to look good in photos. The candid ones are the real us. I don’t doubt he wants to control photographers’ coverage of him.

As for policies, he may ram through a lot of what he wants. None of it will fix what voters vote on and I agree with GC: he’ll be a 1-termer. There is a really brutal backlash coming.

It worked during the campaign, didn’t it?

He needs a script and a teleprompter to appear eloquent - or even coherent. This can be simulated under certain circumstances, such as debates where the questions can be anticipated or by calling only upon those reporters whose questions will be less confrontational.

Obama will never back down from this, because he cannot. Left to his own devices without the ability to prepare his answers, he comes off as distinctly unknowledgable, evasive, and arrogant.

treat Obama like they treat Repubs from day one, but I think Obama will get “worse” treatment than Clinton earlier because Obama is so immature. He is no Clinton.

It won’t be a matter of admitting they are wrong. What is already happening is resentment that Obama is so in control that he is stifling competition of the msm for stories and is reducing the liberties the wash press corps is used to.

Bottom line: That Obama is a childish jerk will be apparent to increasing numbers of Americans simply due to the normal coverage.

I don’t know, Mike. I think the press will give him a few years at the very least if they EVER start needling him at all. After all, they sold their souls to him and people don’t usually admit they were wrong easily.

To turn against The One would have to mean that the Old Media would have to admit they were wrong.
