    Perhaps not in the biblical revelational sense of the word but anybody who aims to replace faith in Christ with faith in government with him at the helm is an anti-christ. Obama did promise miracles, didn’t he? Pity he can’t live up to the promises, which makes him doubly an anti-christ.

    This is sick and people ought to know better. I get that some people don’t believe in God but to set up someone like this as the answer to nonbelief is just plain nuts.

      and my reaction was that I wouldn’t go that far. This friend is 88 years old, grew up in Communism in Czechloslovakia, and recently said that she experienced communism over night. One day it wasn’t, and the next day it was. She and her parents escaped to France, and then to the United States. She is now saying that she wished she would not have lived long enough to be right back to what she and her family escaped from. She and I now are in agreement that Obama is the anti-Christ.

I cannot bring myself to even call him the messiah, because to me he is nothing but a crude, classless fraud with a nice sing songy voice. He has managed to hynotize the unintelligent who have cleared there minds of any other thought. If I hung a picture of this bufoon in any room in my home, I would feel like I was walking into hell every time I went in their.

        ya know? I’m not running around saying the sky is falling (yet because it really depends on what Obama does in the future not what he’s doing at present) but this is just plain sick to set up this guy as some kind of God.

      As you said, he’s not he Biblical anti-christ because he does not fit the description. However, satan always mimics God and has never had an original idea. John the Baptist was a precursor to Christ. Not that he was a Savior, but he did preach about the coming Christ. We theorize that 0bama is a precursor to the anti-christ. His role is to prepare people for following a controlling figure who will mesmerize them with lies.

      When Farakhan called him the Messiah, I thought, “Great, now all we need is Ahmedinejad calling him the 13th Imam.”

      I don’t think that’s gonna happen considering the rhetoric coming out of Iraq lately. Russia ridicules him and Europe, while putting a cordial face on it, thinks of him as a useful idiot, too. Where Bush would bend only so far, Obama will eventually tie himself in a pretzel knot to all the wrong people while pushing away the few allies we have.

    There are many many people today who have rejected Christianity – or any religion – on the basis of their “intellectual elitism” – a rejection of all those rednecks who are clinging to their guns and bibles. And yet God created us in His image, and he created in us a desire to seek and know Him. I have heard this described as all of us being born with a “God-shaped hole” inside of us. That hole yearns to be filled – and some are wise and discerning enough to seek the Truth, and fill that void with the love and spirit of Christ. But we do not live in a perfect world, and many look to things of the world to fill that void. So many fill that hole with sex, or alcohol, or drugs. or other people. I think part of the “obamamania” craze is due to people so desperate for a savior, for someone to provide purpose and meaning in their lives, that they have bought the media’s portrayal of this mere mortal person as the answer. Goodness knows that society and the media does not promote religion as the answer to anything! It is tragic – hope in man will always fall short and disappoint, only hope in God will stand the test of time and endure.

    I’ve read too many of the “Left Behind” series to totally discount Obama as the Anti-Christ – but whether he is or isn’t is not the most important question. Where is YOUR heart? What is filling that void in YOUR life? Probably a pretty rhetorical question for most of us on RS, we seem to be a fairly faith-filled group of traditional conservatives, but it does help you understand the “crazy leftists” out there and know it is as much a spiritual deficit as an intellectual one.
