Obama can not be mentioned in the same breath as this soldier

During Thatcher, guys like these were silenced, until the media created an outcry.
Glad to see now veterans get their due. Will it happen here?
Seems like everyone is a hero
LibRick (Diary) Sunday, May 10th at 8:00AM EST (link)these days. That cheapens the word. The mantle of “hero” should be reserved for people like this soldier or civilians like Capt. Sullenberger… people that do extraordinary things in the face of incomprehensible adversity.
Thanks for drawing attention to this.
Thank you for your service, Major Packer

This story is so hooah, the word "hooah" doesn't do it justice
smagar (Diary) Sunday, May 10th at 3:23PM EST (link)I’m reminded of the story of an English teacher at West Point. When she told her friends at Yale that she was going to teach at the US Military Academy, andacquaintance sneerigly remarked “You’ll humanize them.”
The teacher, Professor Elizabeth Samet, remarked upon remembering that insult her learned colleague made to America’s finest, “The cadets and the instructors “had seemed pretty human to me, In fact, they may have done a little in the years since to humanize me.”
Ask the Iraqis, Kuwaitis, Bosnians and Afghans who’ve been liberated by our soldiers. They’ll tell you something about their humanity.
This story reminds us, once again, of the courage and humanity of our fighting men and women. That’s something that so many of our “betters” coming from the Ivy League will never comprehend.
May they live in a life of pantywaisted mediocrity forever.
