Obama’s Healthcare Deception — It’s Just a Giant Power Grab

Leading by subterfuge... and open thread

Obama’s plan will eliminate the private insurance industry, “its premised on doing so.” He intends to create a socialist, government controlled health care system regardless.

Obama wants a single payer healthcare system. His deception offers a “choice” that is intended to disappear shortly whether people want their private insurance or not.

…And consider this an open thread.

No more Congress Health Plans...

larryp Sunday, May 31st at 10:03AM EDT (link)

they have to go to the clinic and be controled by the Health Boards too.
No Union Health Plan anymore either..out..clinic fo rthem too. No Retail-Clerks Union (Grocery) either. They have a Rolls-Royce health plan and went out on strike in Calif because they wouldn’t pay a co-pay-nothing, not a dime toward it.amost ruined the rank-and-file.No private health plan forthem either.
Teamsters-get in line Union bros- Your plan icanelled.
But Oh no. this is more the Communist Russia 5-yr plans tht a lot of usstill alive remember from viewing history during our school years. The peasants got bupkis-nothing. and the Commisars and pary hacks got it all. The “dacha plan”
the people live in hi-rise tenements and the rulers line in dachas-vacation homes.
Same for US-GvtHealth care. We peasants get the Department of Motor Vehicles-type bureaucracy for out families lives, and all the unions and govt workers et al get limo rides to private care.
Soviet -style govt returns in the USA! Brought to us by— the Democrat Party.

Once here, it will be here forever

red4ever Sunday, May 31st at 11:23AM EDT (link)

There is no such thing as ending a government program. You can “cut” funding, you can nibble at the edges, but it never goes away. We must stop this before it happens. A new Congress in 2010 won’t be enough. A new president in 2012 won’t be enough. It must never be established.

The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.

The health care plan will benefit SEIU

Big Apple Infidel Sunday, May 31st at 11:42AM EDT (link)

SEIU is Obama’s largest union supporter. SEIU is also intimately associated with ACORN. Wade Rathke, who founded ACORN in 1970, has also been very involved in SEIU, establishing SEIU local 100 in the southern U.S. and participating in overall SEIU governance.

Under Rathke close to a million dollars is known to have been embezzled from ACORN by his brother Dale Rathke. In a sweetheart deal this year, the Rathke FAMILY will pay back this money and no law enforcement sweetheart was conducted into this massive crime.

SEIU itself originated in Chicago, home to all manner of gangsterism and, of course, the Obama syndicate.

Greetings from occupied territory!

Abuse of health care

fisk2521 Sunday, May 31st at 1:00PM EDT (link)

i have a family member that is a Teamster…… his entire family received/receives total healthcare benefits…..total dental, medical, hospitalization . He was annoyed a few years ago because he had to pay a $10 co-pay…… the very best benefits with almost no cost to the union member, that I have ever seen in my lifetime.

This of course, includes Congressional members, past and preset. if this deceptive plan of Obama’s goes through, will he cut off Congress, Union benefits, past and present? Who will be availed of the top Drs. in the country at the top medical schools? It appears that only the foreign wealthy will be able to seek specialized treatments at the Mayo, Hopkins, Harvard and the rest. That means no more referrals to the best Drs. in the country for life-threatening diseases.

In Russia - - the home of the ’socialist’ and universal health care, the realty is that if you want to see a ‘decent’ dr. for an illness you must pay ‘under the table’ to do so, and hope for the best…… We must also not forget the SEIU includeds health care workers and I’ve personally witnessed how they ’strike’ and make demands on an institution….. criminals.

It’s just another attempt to bring everything and everyone down to a common denominator.

Abuse of power has a whole new meaning under this President and the country must join together and stop him and his ‘followers’ in the Democratic party. Every single Democrat who supports his outrageous policies must be thrown out of office, we need term limits in Congress and leaders that honestly believe i equal protection under the law….we don’t have them now.

In Russia...

alarm1201 Tuesday, June 2nd at 9:22AM EDT (link)

I have a fried who grew up and started his family in communist Romania. He said that when is first child was born he went up to the doctor shook his hand and placed in the pocket of his coat the equivalent of 3 months pay and said to the Dr. “Make sure my wife gets taken care of.” There was another women there having a child who did not pay; she sat in the corner and gave birth by herself with a nurse occasionally walking by to see how things progressed while the Dr. sat with my friend’s wife the whole time.

So much for “free” health care. The same will be true of any system the government runs.

Heathcare Grab Begins & Ends in the House!

donnac1188 Sunday, May 31st at 2:12PM EDT (link)

If anyone thinks the Senate is going to stop this, they’re misguided. Due to a procedural maneuver that allows passage of a bill by only 50 votes, the Democrats have this in the bag if it gets to the Senate.

The only hope is the Blue Dog Democrats in the House; and if anyone lives in one of their districts, they need to start pounding them now. They’re all up for re-election next year, and that’s their primary concern. If they feel as though their seat is in jeopardy, they will vote against this. See the excellent article by Hugh Hewitt, in Town Hall regarding this issue.

Canadian Healthcare System

biffspalsh Sunday, May 31st at 6:10PM EDT (link)

I live in Canada. Our system is bad, I won’t repeat all those stories of long lines, doctors who ignore you etc etc. I’ll mention some other facts no one ever talks about.

1 - In my town of 2000 people, our hospital is old and they often have to ship people to the big city for stuff like MRI’s etc.

Another town 50 miles from us, has 600 people but has a new hospital with all the lastest stuff. Why? That town is home to writers, artists and other influential people. Our town is just working folks.

healthcare funding IS based on WHO lives in the area served.

2 - Most people now have to pay a monthly fee for healthcare. It only started recently, and so it is not free now, and even though it is only $88 a month, it is predicted it will be 3x higher in a few years.

So basically, in Canada, we’ll soon be paying as much for free healthcare as Americans do for private, better healthcare.

So it is not just rude government workers in hospitals, long lineups, welfare mother using hospitals as babysitters, and doctors who have a mandate to keep costs down, it is also about political interference and the fact that govt just cannot stop wasting money and before we know it, it wlil cost more and more over the year to get something worse.

Stay far away from this system. In fact, take a holiday to Canada and go inside any hospital and look around. Espeically one not in a heavy liberal distrcit.

How Can We Resist?

patriciamcnaughton Monday, June 1st at 9:15PM EDT (link)

No U.S. or state government owns our private health records or us.

Private citizens who agree must resist government healthcare by refusing to allow government’s unauthorized confiscation of our records.

We must develop a legal document private citizens can use to prevent physicians, insurance companies, etc. from releasing our health records to any government entity without each individual’s express, informed and written consent.

If medical/insurance providers throughout the country receive millions of these documents, they will take note. Sending a copy to federal/state legislators, the president and governors will reinforce this message.

It will take nationwide participation, but it can be done. It might be the only way to stop the release of our private records to the government and put a stop to government healthcare.

Why I believe this is important:

• It makes no sense, in terms of affordability or quality of service provided, to force every citizen into government healthcare when the problem is some citizens can’t afford it;

• When government and/or employers make financial expenditures on our behalf, we allow them to justify removing our freedoms and dictating our choices; and

• If we must make a huge transition away from the current system, it makes more sense to first test different models, including private-sector models with no government or employer involvement.

This is America. We the people are smarter and more innovative than our government could ever hope to be. The best answers are out there if we look outside the government box.

If you agree, pass it on!
