And wouldn't demanding that highly trained professionals accept a government imposed wage for their work while working them more than 40hours a week with no added benefit to them be slavery??

I don't get how the current system is slavery but a government system that requires health care workers work "for the good of society" and out of the goodness of their hearts with minimal personal gain isn't slavery.

In socialism professionals becomes slaves to the masses.

Within the free-market system we retain the right to make our own choices. Hardly the equivalent of slavery.
I would be more likely to equate a system in which one is forced to participate, forced to fund for yourself and your neighbor, and denied the right to exit is more akin to slavery. That is what we have with Social Security, Medicare, and possibly soon national health care.
Mr. Firedoglake has his analogy perfectly backward.
