MEMBER DIARY

Breaking: Gang of Eight Crafts 7,000 Page (amnesty) Immigration Reform Package

Warning: This diary contains extreme sarc and satire.

Don’t worry about what’s in it for now. The Senate and House will have to pass it to see what’s in it. (That was the wisdom from on high ala Nancy Pelosi — she promised everyone that that would be the only way they could get the dang thing done and out of the way.)

And did you hear about the wonderful new era of bipartisanship that has broken out on Capitol Hill? Senator Rubio was so excited about it, rumors were spreading that many had seen him cracking open a bottle of champagne to celebrate with Harry Reid.

Things have become so cooperative, peaceful and amiable that President Obama cut short his trip to Las Vegas to join the celebration. And as an extra gesture of bipartisanship, Senator McCain is so giddy about the progress they are making that he offered to pick Obama up at the airport so he could fill him in on the details regarding the wonderful open-borders amnesty bill that both sides were able to compromise on to reach.

The breakthrough taking place on the Hill is so groundbreaking, Karl Rove was just on a Fox News Alert with mini-chart in hand showing the numbers of illegal immigrants who will be able to register Republican by 2018 and the impact that will have on the House races that year. By Rove’s estimates, a minimum of at least three seats will be picked up in the dark blue states due to the momentous bipartisan deal that has been crafted.

In the meantime, Speaker John Boehner sent out an email to Chairman Reince Priebus asking him to alert the RNC to all the progress so that the conservative base could let out a sigh of relief and ponder what all of this will mean for the Republican Party in 2014. I mean, surely the Hispanics will love us now, right?

Well, whatever happens, you will be able to thank the GOP and our ineffective non-elected ‘leadership’. Rush’s interview with Rubio today? Joke. Sucked up. Hannity, Rush, all these guys (Mark Levin excepted) always suck up to the people causing the problem.

I’ve been calling consistently for just about 2 years now for the primary challenge to Boner. When we finally saw it, it was too little, too weak, too late. That’s why they will continue to work against the will of their constituents, us. They know that we all, like good sheep, follow the lead of radio talk show hosts, FOX commentators and bloggers. They also know that those people will not, for whatever reason, hold them to account. they know that we, like good beaten wives, will continue to support them, in a false, perpetual hope that they will be the good people we know they really are. We will tolerate their primary-season antics, their post-primary antics (like not helping conservative candidates), and their suck-up-to-whatever-democrat is in power antics, comforting ourselves with the soma of some great future conservative resurgence, repeating the mantra, ‘conservative in the primary, republican in the general’. While I believe in, and act on, that principle, maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to quit saying it loud enough for the GOP to hear. And maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea either to let them know that we are watching, and if crossed, we will strike back, through the donation and primary processes.

Until we can learn how to do those things, we will continue to get the same results.

So far, we continue to do the same thing, getting the same miserable results, but expecting different ones.

what’s that definition of insanity again?

If things get much more absurd, I’m walking away from politics for good. It’s all I can do to stand watching Rubio beclown himself with this. Does he really think this is helping him? There are millions in this country that are furious re: the thought of amnesty for illegals and Rubio’s flip-flopping, pandering and hypocrisy on this reaches right up there with Romney’s on Romneycare. God help us.

You’re absolutely right. What’s so galling is that now the GOP apparently thinks it’s OK to imitate the Dimocrats of 2009 and force stuff through against the will of the people.

        I could be wrong, but I have a feeling I know what’s afoot…

If you listened to Rubio, when Limbaugh asked him why he thought it was wise to let all the illegals stay, Rubio said

‘ am confident that, given a fair chance, I can convince most Americans, including Americans of Hispanic descent, that limited government and free enterprise is better for them and better for their upward mobility than Big Government is. ‘

Rubio used the word ‘I’, not ‘we’. I would not be surprised if the GOP is planning to ram through amnesty now to set up Rubio for election in ’16 (or so they think) – the first Hispanic president on the coattails of amnesty (courtesy of GOP) and boom! you have a permanent GOP majority. The massive stupidity of such a calculus is worthy of our beloved Stupid Party.

I know this is a stretch, and I’m almost sure i’m wrong, but I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility.

        • westcoastpatriette

I’m thinking it’s more of a personal hubris thing with Rubio fantasizing about becoming prez until he feels invincible — kind of soaking up all the press about the exciting new Hispanic Senator. He has even started referring to illegals as the “undocumented.” He has been brainwashed by the liberals on this. They are all drunk with panic and power-driven animals that look like fools over this. Honestly.

          • avgjo

            I hope you’re right ( I think -?). Good night.

So, does The Afterburner Video [Bill Whittle] look somewhat better now ?
I think on it at least twice a day, act on it where I can, and it gets easier and easier to accomplish. Ticks my wife off no end, as current movies are just about done-for.

Besides that, consider Rubio, as a whole :
**He knows that public critical thinking is as dead as a dodo, as he ain’t stupid by any means. 7,000 pages just encourages M E G O itis and if only a trifling glance is used, He Is Golden.
** The Mainline GOP is essentially rudderless here and now, and we all know about power seeking a vacuum. Here again, he ain’t stupid.
** Once again we see very little of the proper terminology being used here.
They’re “iIlegal aliens” and anyone who says different is to be outed,
loud and long. If even ‘that’ does not occur, then you already have your ultimate answer.
We’re gonna have another Romney, but in differing form and tact.
        (Marco Rumneyo ??)
Gimme Rand Paul and we’ll go-on from there…………

        • westcoastpatriette

Yes, fwk, Whittle’s video keeps sounding more and more appealing.

I keep having brief glimpses of the kind of revolution that is about to burst forth, but it’s like having a word on the tip of your tongue that you can’t quite access. It has something to do with We The People gradually forming a shadow self-government as a natural reaction to having completely lost confidence in our government’s ability to represent us — especially at the federal level. Somehow, the movement will be so effective and unanimous that we will strip the feds of their power and run them out of Washington to start over. They are nothing but a phony show to watch now — a show that thinks nothing of using our tax dollars to work against us and our Constitutional freedoms. Am I dreaming or is this possible?

          • funwithknives

Well,… let’s see now,……there’s you, and me, and Bill. In some circles that’s called ‘A Cell’ and it multiplies from there.
I know ‘this’ is dreaming also but look to The French [believe it or not] and their TriColor and what it signifies.
Fraternity is a part [of 3,Trinity] of tried and true Freedom, and it’s in their anthem
More Cells=More Seen and Felt Freedom.
Is it possible to just walk away and do, essentially, nothing political ?
Years ago I quit Blowing Dope, cold-turkey. Long story, but essentially I felt I had to shock my system after 23 straight years of every day indulgence.
Haven’t touched it since, but alchohol is permitted, in small doses.
            Moral ?? :
First, you have to Want To, just badly enough……
It’s always good to ‘see’ you, wcp.
[Stay off the Brakes, unless you arrive.]

      There is leadership out there…
‘I would ask the Senators, do you agree with me that the United States
should have an enforced immigration policy designed to enhance the
economic, social, and cultural well being of the United States of
America? Do you believe the Rule of Law and national sovereignty are
essential components of a successful nation? Do you believe employers
should be allowed to deduct wages and benefits paid to illegal aliens as
a business expense? I’m guessing the ‘Gang of Eight’ would be inclined
to agree with me on my principles. But, I predict that they will oppose
my every effort to get them into law.’ — Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa)
‘I appreciate the good work that senators in both parties have put into
trying to fix our broken immigration system. There are some good
elements in this proposal, especially increasing the resources and
manpower to secure our border and also improving and streamlining legal
immigration. However, I have deep concerns with the proposed path to
citizenship. To allow those who came here illegally to be placed on such
a path is both inconsistent with rule of law and profoundly unfair to
the millions of legal immigrants who waited years, if not decades, to
come to America legally.’ — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas)

Seven thousand pages you could name each illegal ! Large union contracts with auto companies are about three hundred pages . If you can’t explain every part of a contract without notes you should never consider signing it .
Illegals with criminal records ,smugglers ,and those who don’t want pay back taxes will stay in the shadows.
The big change is some illegal voters will become legal.

All this is going to do, contrary to Mr. Rubio and the GOP’s plans is set up Tony V from The mayors office in Los Angeles for at least the VP slot. I have lost a huge amount of respect for Mr. Rubio on this. Short sighted thoughts that the sheep will flock to the conservative side of the isle. I honestly think we have all lost our minds after Odumma was re-elected.

    • westcoastpatriette

Oh, yes, I can see Tony V coming down the pike at break-neck speed. Ditto on having lost respect for Rubio. He should be ashamed but I see no signs of that whatsoever. These are dangerous red flag warnings of a huge ego propelling him to greatness (in his eyes). I never ignore my instincts and it is disturbing how ready he is to ride his wave of notoriety to make a name for himself. Watch out conservatives.

  • drohan00

I like what you have to say. I live in Nebraska and I wrote my Senators telling them to oppose this.

Bravo and good work. I think we can reconnect with our working class friends on this issue and defeat it.
