The Watercooler ~ President Obama in Israel [Updated]

Finally, several months into his second term, President Obama is visiting Israel. One never knows exactly what he may do, so Obama’s actions will be watched closely by many. Hopefully, he will refrain from insulting and offending Israelis and, especially, Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Scripture tells us to:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalm 122:6

For those who are Christians, the New Testament reminds us that we owe the Jewish people our gratitude, for unto them were entrusted the oracles of God. And of course, through them came our messiah.

UPDATE: 10:23 PST After publishing today’s open thread, I found this excellent analysis regarding “Obama’s mysterious visit” to Israel, written by Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post. It is well worth the read and reveals some of Obama’s possible motives for going to Israel at this time.

The Watercooler is always an open thread.

I wish they would remove these wretched ads at the bottom of our diaries. They are such an unpleasant distraction. Irritating. Yuck.

    • checkmate2012

Ditto that. It must be new too and I agree, they’re in a really bad place. But ads pay the bills so I guess we can’t complain.

…and now we’ll see just what The Israeli’s think of “Our Messiah”, in excruciating, mind-numbing, SCUM-announced detail. This is their chance to let him know, in no-uncertain terms, just how he is percieved and “respected” over there.
They founded their homeland by ‘taking it’ to who- and what-ever authority that stood in their way.
That we should see this again would be miraculous and a real, honest ‘message’ would be sent to all freedom lovers, no matter where they reside.
But alas, this is the Age of Relativism and how many ‘truths’ are there to expound, and get all kind-sa’ giddy over ?
Here’s a ‘hint’ for them : If it involves a Real spine, with Real words and Real actions , you’re really gonna be disappointed ………..

      See what again? Where?

        1) Well, what about telling Barry in no uncertain terms that they know by

hard- learned experience just what Freedom costs and do not need a Community Organizer /Poseur such as HimSelf talking-at, or -down to them.

2)Ditto,[to Barry] with whatever they decide to do inside their own borders,
re: expansions, building, and negotiating with the So-Called Palestinians.

3)See: **”…’taking it’ to…” and then possibly looking up their history, since 1947. It kinda’, sorta’, explains itself.

I read that Glick piece and I have to disagree about Pollard. That man is a traitor, literally, and he needs to rot in jail forever.

WCP…I see that “DIARIES” has disappeared from the top of the page. What’s up with that?

    • westcoastpatriette

I noticed that a couple days ago. We got demoted again I guess. The only way to access member diaries now is by clicking on the word “diary” after a screen name (in byline of the diary) or going to the “all” column to the right. Don’t know who did it or why. I’m assuming it was Erick.

You can access a list of user diaries from any page by clicking the “Diaries tab” in the “Redstate Community” box. This is how I’ve done it since the redesign – I never have used the top-of-page link (and to be honest, I didn’t even know there was one THERE).

        • westcoastpatriette

I always used the top of the page link so I noticed it missing right away. When you say “Diaries tab,” you mean after a persons screen name, right?

          • Bill S

On the Front Page, in the “Redstate Community” box, there is a tab that says “Diary”, one that says “Comments,” and one that says “Popular”. On each individual Diary page, you can see the same thing in the Redstate Community box, although the diary list is labeled differently – it says “All” instead of “Diary”. But the contents are the same – a list of the last 80 or so user diaries.

          • westcoastpatriette

Okay. How funny. I never go to the Front Page and did not know that “diary” column was there. Funny how we all navigate the site in different ways.
