Only 51-49? What is going on here? Kerry won four years ago, 56-44.

I was surprised by two things: How close the vote went (I never figured that McCain would poll so well amongst Jr Highers) and by the sheer number of kids who voted (2.3 million kids).

Now I can’t imagine that many Jr High students know much about politics so I assume that this is more likely a rough proxy for how their parents feel (“Hey mom, dad who should I vote for?”).
