Ross Douthat Still Doesn’t Get It

One may read Mr. Douthat’s article here. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but he doesn’t get it. I don’t believe that “just passing something” of a healthcare bill will be a positive. The downward spiral in Obama’s poll numbers & the amazing rise in grassroots activism demonstrated by the TEA Parties & the 9-12 rallies is not about a single issue – it’s about | Read More »

I’m Sick & Tired of Republican “leaders” Who Bash Our Own who tell the Truth!

Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst, calling Obama on just one of his lies, received swift condemnation from so-called Republican “leaders” in the House & Senate. McCain was one of many who piled on for Wilson’s lack of “decorum.” Maybe Wilson could have chosen different words, but give me a break! Wilson spoke for many of us who want to tell Obama that we are on to | Read More »

Healthcare Reform Debate Response to President Obama – My Email to flag@whitehouse.gov

Dear President Obama, I am one of the multitude who opposes government-controlled health-care. This email address was set up to alert your staff to “disinformation” regarding the health-care proposals being debated in congress and across our wonderful country. I have not read every one of the 1,000 pages or so in the bill; I have, however read many of them & find the plain language | Read More »

Time for Us to Take the Fight to the Democrats

Ladies & gentlemen, we have been handed a great opportunity by the Democrats in the House. As you may have heard, the Franking Commission will not let House Republicans send information… This is a HUGE opportunity for those of us in the grassroots to take the ball & run it to the house, to use a football analogy. We are the ones to take this | Read More »

What is their plan? What strategic contingencies do we need to have?

Obama’s poll numbers are sinking like a rock filled with lead. His policies & proposals are meeting with great opposition from inside congress & out here. We are licking our chops for 2010. In all this, I remember Joe Biden telling a group that times would get tough, poll numbers would drop, & he was urging the faithful to stick with Obama through this… This | Read More »

Rush Limbaugh – Our Modern Day Thomas Paine

Rush Limbaugh’s speech to CPAC was simply brilliant. For me, he encapsulated conservatism, explained & defended it as well as I’ve ever seen, heard, or read. He dispensed common sense conservatism with alacrity, great humor, and authentic passion. Rush is much like Thomas Paine. Neither were accepted by the “establishment” of his time. Paine’s words rallied a new nation to not give up the fight | Read More »

Time to Act – Tell Congress NO Bank Nationalization

I really don’t think that this needs much explanation. We have stories where Republican Senators are speaking positively of this.   It’s time to act – using Redstate’s & Human Event’s great CAPWIZ feature, please find your representatives (whether they be Republican, Democrat, or happy clown) & politely, professionally, let them know that Bank nationalization is a complete non-starter. Get this to your friends, family, | Read More »

Feeling a little “Radical” myself lately

I’ve been doing some research on Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” It’s a very interesting work, with some disturbing aspects. I’m not saying nor will I say that we should adopt these tactics 100%, however there are some things to learn not only to counter these tactics from the left but also to inculcate some of these for our benefit. Has anyone read the entire | Read More »

    Conservatism Without “Cliques”

We need to be conservative Republicans, not segregating ourselves into little High-School type cliques. We have the winning strategy for elections & governance: Strong National Defense Fiscal Responsibility Limited Government Conservative Social Values Standing alone, these are winning issues. Together, they are almost invincible. We have the watershed victories of 1980 & 1994 as evidence of what happens when Republicans run as total conservatives, expousing | Read More »

Defeating ACORN & the Lefto’sphere activists

I don’t think ACORN needs an introduction. We’re also aware of dailykos, moveon, & the others of the lefto’sphere. I read recently (& cannot find the link, if someone finds it would you please post it) of 3 million left-wing activists ready to call Democrat legislators to push the Obama/Dem congressional agenda & drown out opposition.

My Thoughts on Powell’s Endorsement of Obama

Perhaps Powell is more comfortable with the patrician type of ivy-league/country club Republican? His commentary on Sarah Palin, John Roberts, & Samuel Alito bears this out. I seem to remember for the longest time Powell not mentioning his own party affiliation. I guess all humans are human. Many of the far-left posters on here have called him an “uncle tom” for years & years. He’s | Read More »

Barak Obama is Prince John – Not Robin Hood

By golly, Disney has it right regarding Robin Hood v. Prince John! Barak Obama’s exchange with the plumber exposes him as the Prince John wannabe of this election. Taking from those of us who work & create the jobs which make this country work & giving it to his minions in big government & those who support centralized control & corruption (ACORN).

Turning Anger & Passion Into Action

I won’t take up valuable bandwidth by posting links – there are a plethora of stories about “angry” McCain/Palin supporters. Also, there is no shortage of stories pushing the mantra that the election is over &, without saying it, Obama is…Inevitable. We’ve heard this little ditty before. “Lifelong” Republicans & conservatives who have seen the light & are going to vote for the Democrat – | Read More »

    Wade Williams

I’m sure many of us have heard about this link, where the old fellow threatens election officials in Louisiana. I know that we have fellow Redstaters in LA & hope to see if someone can advise if this fellow is a registered Democrat, Republican, or other? Whichever one it is, it would realy help out in the trenches…

Energy in the Republican Conservative Base

This won’t be too long, no wonderful links or anything like that. I am the secretary for the Cheatham County (TN) Republican Party. We held our monthly meeting last night. We normally average around 10 – 15 people during the “off” season – in August we had about 10 folks show up, & this just before McCain picked Governor Palin as his VP nominee. We | Read More »

A Personal Story – Unplanned Pregnancy

I can’t recall a time when I wasn’t really pro-life. During high school & college in the 1980′s, when every “teen” movie HAD to have some pro-abortion message, I knew that life was the right choice for the baby. My wife became pregnant with our son before we were married. That was not a good choice on our part. We were engaged, & then married. | Read More »

Phillip Johnson, TN State Rep for District 78

The Clarksville TN Department of Electricity hosted a forum for local candidates recently. Phillip Johnson is the current State Representative for TN House district 78, which includes part of Montgomery County. The forum included questions from the audience. The differences between Phillip Johnson, who is a rock-ribbed grassroots conservative, and his opponent – who is a very liberal Democrat – are striking.
