There was a time very early on in the Republican primaries when I couldn’t absolutely stand Governor Romney’s quick-thinking, hard-hitting, but graceful debate style–especially as he demolished every one of the candidates I had rooted for, one-by-one. Right now, I couldn’t be more thankful for these very same set of skills as he goes against Obama for their second debate.
If there is one thing I have learned about Governor Romney, it’s his almost super human ability to think on his feet in a split second and adapt quickly and appropriately to the situation he is in. They say Obama will “feel at home” with a townhall debate format and is in fact counting on it? Well good for him, but what he needs to realize is that Governor Romney has a singular knack for “out-Obama-ing” Obama in any given situation.
I don’t presume to have a crystal ball in front of me, but I have every confidence that Governor Romney is well aware of what Obama may attempt at the next debate. Like him or hate him, I have never seen Governor Romney show up for a debate unprepared.
As far as Congressman Ryan’s debate performance, I’m sure each of us had our own “wish list” of sharp comebacks against Biden that night. I don’t think any of them would have been necessary, though, given that Biden’s boorish conduct turned out to be a gift that kept giving anyway.
I think Congressman Ryan did a fine job. He came across as crisp, knowlegeable, highly likeable, and presidential. He did not let Biden drag him down to the pit where Biden evidently seemed most at home. Let’s face it: there is very little one can do in a civilized setting against one whose concept of “winning” consists of nothing more than acting like a babbling thug with severe impulse-control issues.

PPP recent Ohio Poll is absolute garbage. I am surprised that that someone has written a front page article regarding this poll. It is that bad.
