3 New State Polls For The Primaries

Likely being released tomorrow. These are the notes coming out of PPP.
“1st and 2nd in our West Virginia poll: Cain and Newt. Just when you think the GOP race couldn’t get any weirder…”
“Rick Perry’s net favorability with WV Republicans has dropped 30 points in a month from +43 (52/9) to +13 (38/25)”
“A month ago 33% of WV Republicans said Perry was their first choice, now 15%. And when Christie’s included Perry drops to 9%”
“Favorabilities with WV Republicans: Christie +43, Bachmann +25, Gingrich +24, Romney +15, Perry +13, Paul -20″
“We didn’t even test Cain’s fav because he wasn’t top 5 on our last national poll. Will have to add him in”
“1st and 2nd in Nebraska: Cain and Gingrich. Just like WV. GOP race has always been wide open, it has NEVER been this wide open.”
“Perry’s favorability with Nebraska Republicans is 35/35…really remarkable how much his image has tanked so fast”
“Favorabilities with Nebraska Republicans: Christie +25, Gingrich +17, Bachmann +13, Romney +11, Perry even, Paul -21″
“In North Carolina Cain leads with Gingrich tied for 2nd. So Cain led all 3 states polls we did over the weekend.”
“I think Herman Cain is the new GOP frontrunner. At least for the next week.”
“Perry’s net favorability in NC has dropped 37 points in the last month from +44 (61/17) to +7 (44/37)”
“In 4 years at PPP I’ve never been as befuddled by a set of polls as this past weekend’s…Cain/Newt to top of GOP field out of nowhere?”
And that’s all of them.

there was a sudden series of “thanks comments” and it reminded me of bed time on Walton’s Mountain. ;)

      never mind…

We’ve also figured out you are probably Karl Rove.

        Like I said: Never mind.

        • wonkish1

He’s a douche, his strategy is junk, and his analysis bad.

If anything I would much rather be Barone. But you can’t pick your own nickname.

Unless you’re talking about an ex-wife, of course.

But I don’t particularly like him that much.

For me he doesn’t bother me as much when he opens his mouth of Fox, but I don’t like his campaign strategy at all.

Christie’s insane favorabilities with WV Republicans (+43, the most popular republican by far) – a very culturally conservative constituency, very pro-coal and relatively lenient towards unions – show why he’d probably run away with the nomination if he runs.

if he shoots ahead of Cain very shortly.

I can understand Cain rising, but Newt Gingrich ahead of Perry and Romney?

I’ll need to see some more polling, preferably by a different firm, that says something similar before I’ll treat this polling as anything but outliers.

Plus this probably all your going to see from these 3 states until Iowa.

Also keep in mind that this wasn’t 1 poll, but 3 separate polls in 3 separate states. But of course I’m looking forward to see some more to double check these as well.

I’ve been a little ticked at the near polling black out over the last couple weeks.

Newt has done well consistently. Shouldn’t be a surprise he is catching on. The other candidates are falling in the lame stream media traps of attacking each other like immature kids. They should know better.

As far as his baggage, who gives a rip when the economy is this pathetic? People will want leadership and solutions and will overlook a lot to get it.

Perry/Romney were set up to look stupid with their back and forth “oh yeah, well…..” Now the Cain/Perry thing has been sensationalized by the LSM as well. Cain called it insensitive. Hardly some big reaction but it is being made out to be.

Gingrich has been the only one to challenge the media. Nobody else gets how toxic the media is and to quit sucking up to them.
