Actor Dean Cain Says He 'Would've Knocked Cold' the Kid Who Egged Fraser Anning; Twitter Mobs Him

You’ve most likely read about the egging of Australian Senator Fraser Anning after remarks some called unfair in response to the New Zealand mosques massacre.

For more on the Christchurch shooting — which left 50 dead — please see here, here, and here.

As covered by RedState’s Elizabeth Vaughn, Fraser connected violence to Islamic immigration via Twitter:

“Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?”

In addition, he released the following statement:

“I am utterly opposed to any form of violence within our community, and I totally condemn the actions of the gunman. However, whilst this kind of violent vigilantism can never be justified, what it highlights is the growing fear within our community, both in Australia and New Zealand, of the increasing Muslim presence.”

The result? Well, just call him Egghead:

Here it is, from another angle:

Geez.

And now, I give you Superman.

Lois & Clark actor Dean Cain tweeted a remark about the incident that went a little something like this:

Social media cranked up the outrage with a little bit of this:

Note: That isn’t fascism. This is.

The Man of Steel fought back:

He even offered some truth, justice, and the American way:

Furthermore, Dean provided this to The Daily Caller:

“You cannot attack someone for their political views, no matter how abhorrent. Not with an egg, not with fists, not with guns. That’s wrong. In the U.S. we have the First Amendment which protects all speech, including unpopular speech, as long as it doesn’t call for violence. While I totally disagree with what I’ve seen of the Senator’s positions, is it illegal for him to hold them? Should he be physically attacked because of them?”

Good points and question.

I like Dean Cain. I’ve had a personal, indirect connection to him, and from what I understand, he’s a very nice guy.

Not so nice: Egg Boy.

But what of Fraser Anning? What do you make of his statements? The egging? Dean and his detractors? This is a meaty issue, and I look forward to you all carving into it, in the Comments section below. Like you do so well. Let me know your thoughts.

Also: Did you like Lois & Clark? I loved it.
