Have you seen the trailer for Universal’s silver screen version of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Broadway biggie Cats?
The feline film is coming to a theater near you, and some online are noting the project’s creepiness. Select cinemaphiles are even likening the kitty cult colossus’s movie manifestation to a horror flick.

I don't know why you're all freaking out over miniature yet huge cats with human celebrity faces and sexy breasts performing a demented dream ballet for kids.

From The Office’s Dwight:
I just saw the trailer for Cats. I’ve decided to remove my eyes with a spoon and only listen to Norwegian death metal until the end of time. #Cats

Bette Midler got in a political jab:
People are livid over the trailer for Cats! Listen, even if the whole thing was just Dame Judi Dench coughing up a hairball, it would STILL be better than watching AMERICA trying to hack out the slimy hairball in the Oval Office!

Here’s a reference to another movie which you must see — the absolutely hilarious What We Do in the Shadows:

Given the trailer’s nod to nightmares, director Jordan Peele shared a version of the clip overlaid with the music from his horror hit Us — which I highly recommend you see and then read all about afterward — the theories online go deep. Here’s the re-scored version. Let me know what you think. See if it gets your motor running (and tell me if you liked Us):
