Holy moley.

The political conservation continues to go the way of swirling water in a porcelain bowl.

On the Pod Save America podcast, Susan Rice — Obama’s national security advisor — called South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham a “piece of sh**.”

The program is hosted by two veteran Obama officials, spokesman Tommy Vietor and advisor Ben Rhodes.

In a clip from the show posted to Twitter Tuesday, Ben asserted that one must understand Benghazi in order to understand Trump.

To that, Tommy replied, “Right, because Lindsey Graham isn’t just a piece of sh** now.”

Susan added this spice:

“He’s been a piece of sh**.”

She continued:

“I said it. I said it, dammit. Finally. He’s a piece of sh**.”

And what’s he been doing? According to Tommy, it’s this:

“He’s lying. Lying, lying, lying. And raising money off the death of four Americans.”

Susan claims a Fox News producer had slipped her a secret: The network needed a villain in the Benghazi story in order to get viewership. So it picked her:

“He said…‘Making them angry is how they get ratings. And the way to make them angry is to create villains that they can target and vilify. And you always need fresh villains.’”

The episode will be released Wednesday.

Does this kind of crappy talk help dignify Obama’s legacy? Or politics in general?

It seems to me we’re drifting further and further from the debate of ideas, as personal attacks take the place of things that could actually have value.

But so it goes.

Whatever else anyone’s thoughts on Lindsey may be, he’s certainly fierce. The man had flames flying off him during the Kavanaugh hearings.
