Planned Parenthood Great Plains spokeswoman Emily Miller says abortions scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at the Columbia clinic are canceled. Federal appeals judges ruled last month that Missouri can enforce a requirement that doctors performing abortions must have admitting privileges at hospitals. The Columbia clinic hasn’t met that requirement. (Timothy Tai/Columbia Daily Tribune via AP, File)

A google employee is going after some big dough after he purportedly committed violence against a conservative activist.

Here’s how it all — allegedly –went down:

On August 31st of last year, 28-year-old Michael Gribbin was chalking a sidewalk with pro-life messages near a Washington, D.C. Planned Parenthood clinic.

Google Cloud Head of Customer Analytics Quinn Chasan came by and decided to wreak some havoc.

Quinn stole his chalk and wouldn’t give it back. He finally tossed it.

The Google guy went to unlock his bicycle lock, and Michael grabbed the bike.

He told Quinn he wasn’t letting go ’til the police arrived.

At that point, Quinn punched Michael and pushed him down.

[The following video contains offensive language]:

As per a September police report acquired by The Daily Caller, Michael called the police “after he was punched and pushed by S-1 [suspect] after a heated argument turned physical in the 400 block of M street.”

Moreover, “N.E. M.P.D Officers arrived on scene where V-1 flagged Officers down to give his account of events.”

No further investigation was attempted, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to pursue the case.

In light of the lack of prosecution, Michael filed a civil suit against Quinn.

On February 7th, Quinn responded by countersuing for a great big $5 million — accusing him of battery, libel and slander, and intentional negligent infliction of emotional address.

Oh — and this, as reported by TDC: committing a hate crime against him based on “perceived religion and political affiliation.”

According to Quinn, Michael “brashly yelled, mocked, cursed & threatened to physically assault” him — after Quinn used a sponge to wipe off Michael’s messages.

Here’s more from the Caller:

The claim says that Gribbin followed Chasan home, “mocking, cursing and threatening to physically assault” Chasan, and proceed to grab and kick Chasan’s bike, prevent Chasan from leaving, and began “kicking, punching and wrestling” with Chasan. The Google employee also alleges that Gribbin bit him on the shoulder and calf, bites that required medical attention and left a scar. Chasan also accuses of  Gribbin of lying about the encounter in media appearances, as well as posting edited videos.

“As a direct and proximate result of Counter-Defendant Gribbin’s deliberate actual hate intent, Counter-Plaintiff Chasan suffered severe and extreme pain, emotional distress, and mental anguish as a result of the battery, causing actual, consequential, and incidental damages,” the claim says.

Washington, D.C. 40 Days for Life Campaign Coordinator Michael New has a lot to say about the situation:

“This is absurd. Michael Gribbin is a victim, not an assailant. There is no way his actions after before, during, or after the assault caused Chasan $5 million in damages. Furthermore, any negative consequences incurred by Chasan are the direct result of his own misconduct. It is my hope that the judge dismisses Chasan’s countersuit as frivolous.”

Check out the video and let us all know what you think. But beware: It contains some very offensive language.

Michael’s cell phone clips — as well as other similar videos in the news over the last few years — serve as quite the indication of societal evolution.

It seems to have become a bit commonplace for people to steal and vandalize their political opponents’ property (Case in point: Violent Angry Moron Idiot ID’d in Berkeley Attack on Conservative; a Warrant is Being Sought).

In my opinion, that wouldn’t as likely have happened 30 years ago: This is in no way an endorsement of violence, but not so far in the past, dudes were afraid to take other dudes’ property, because they knew those dudes would punch them in the face for it.

More importantly, they wouldn’t do it because it was wrong.

Rude.
