Are we really going to do this again?

First, it was his comments in 2015, where he said Mexico is importing rapists, criminals, etc. across the border (something that is objectively true). This was latched onto as him calling all Mexicans rapists and criminals. Here’s what he actually said.

“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

To this day, liberals and anti-Trumpers of all stripes still falsely accuse him of labeling all Mexicans as rapists and drug dealers when he clearly says there are good people as well. Was his delivery a bit ham-handed? Sure, but it’s not in doubt what he actually said. Why misrepresent it?

Then there was flap over him calling MS-13 animals. That somehow morphed into him calling all illegal immigrants animals. Nancy Pelosi went out and completely lied about the exchange. This led her to actually defend MS-13 (whether she wants to admit it or not) by describing them as “undocumented immigrants” and talking about sparks of divinity within them.

“So when the president of the United States says about undocumented immigrants, ‘These aren’t people, these are animals,’ you have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person?’

Later, after Trump would repeat his claim that MS-13 are animals, NBC News described him as “doubling down.” We got entire segments on cable news riffing about how wrong it is to call even murderous gang members animals. The entire spectacle of reaction was a thing to behold, as it showed just how far Trump’s opponents were willing to go to attack him.

Well, we’ve got a new controversy, this time over Trump asserting that some asylum seekers are gang members. CNN’s Jim Acosta ran to Twitter to breathlessly report his comments.

Other media members decided to purposely leave out the word “some” in order to really get the juices flowing.

Fact-Check: False

He did not say all asylum seekers or asylum seekers in general are gang members who don’t need protection. Can we not make this a thing for the next year?

Honest question: Do these media members really think the cartels are stupid? Do they think MS-13 doesn’t see that having a child qualifies an illegal border crosser for catch and release? Of course they do and just as economic migrants are abusing our asylum process, so are gang members and cartel members. CBP is even having to break up “child recycling” rings, where children are used multiple times as free entry into the country.

We’ve broken up child recycling rings — if you can believe it — in the last couple of months, which is where smugglers pick up a child, they give it to adults to present themselves as a family once they get over — because, as you know, we can only hold families for 20 days — they send the child back and bring the child back with another family. Another fake family.”

And who do you think has the resources to run such a scheme? The cartels and gangs. This stuff is common sense but our media acts completely oblivious and hostile toward anyone who points out the nefarious activity happening at the border.

It’s no surprise that a bunch of sheltered “journalists” from New York and D.C. have no actual care for what’s going on thousands of miles from them. From their ivory towers, it’s just another political bludgeon to try to beat Trump with. What they are doing is harmful though. It’s promoting human trafficking, it’s discouraging legislators from fixing the issue, and it’s resulting in death, crime, and yes, growth of vicious gangs within the U.S. interior.

Could the media, just for one day even, try honestly reporting on the situation CBP and ICE are facing instead of clutching their pearls at every mention of reality? That would indeed be a good day.
