Adam Schiff: Voters Must Defeat My Opponent Who Supported a 'Partisan Impeachment' and 'Polarized Our Nation'

The sheer amount of hypocrisy being shown in the current impeachment push never ceases to amaze.

We’ve seen videos of Nancy Pelosi deriding the impeachment of Bill Clinton as a partisan witch hunt and Chuck Schumer demanding a dismissal before the trial even began. Jerry Nader also is on tape slamming Republicans for impeaching Clinton. Now, they’ve all decided that political, partisan impeachments are not only good, but necessary. Weird how that works.

Adam Schiff doesn’t escape the hypocrisy train either, as a statement has surfaced that goes back to the year 2000. At the time, he was running against James Rogan, who had been a prosecutor in Clinton’s impeachment. Rogan had made several comments that will sound familiar to what’s coming out of Schiff’s mouth today.

This via Townhall.

Rogan’s central role as a House prosecutor during President Clinton’s trial before the U.S. Senate–in which he declared Clinton “a monarch, subversive of, or above, the law”–made his reelection a national cause celebre and a $10.3-million-plus spend-a-thon. By election day, it was on pace to become the most expensive House race ever.

Schiff also went on to make this claim in his fundraising pitch.

Hasson also cites an article describing a Schiff appeal to donors that decried “the partisan impeachment hearings that polarized our nation for so long,” and reviled Rogan as one of the chief polarizers.

Rogan turned out to be the Democrats’ chief target in the House that cycle because he had played such a visible role in the prior impeachment. Obviously, he would go on to lose while being pummelled with accusations of partisanship and dividing the country because he helped support impeachment. Schiff was at the forefront of those attacks, riding the aftermath to victory.

Today, we see the shoe on the other foot. It is Adam Schiff pushing through a partisan, nonsensical impeachment (at least Clinton’s impeachment involved actual, proven crimes) while severely dividing the country as a result.

This is yet another example of how much of a dumpster fire the political sphere is. Schiff was elected because he attacked someone over supporting a partisan impeachment. Two decades later, Schiff is doing the same exact thing, but without evidence and with more righteous indignation. Welcome to the swamp.
