The derangement surrounding the Republicans’ tax bill victory just continues to get weirder as one Los Angeles psychologist proved when he decided to send a gift to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

According to KPCC, Robert Strong decided to send a political message to Mnuchin by loading up a box filled with horse manure and leaving it near his home.  The L.A.P.D. bomb squad was called, and upon finding the box contained only manure, sent an officer to interview Strong. At the time, the L.A.P.D. refused to release Strong’s identity, but Strong himself was so proud of the act that he made the entire event public.

In fact, Strong tweeted about the event, saying that his actions would “go down in the anals[sic – but I get the joke] of history.”

Strong, who claims he helped organize “Occupy L.A.,” told KPCC he sent Mnuchin the manure because the recently passed tax plan is “brazenly ripping off the American people.” He then compared his actions to something Christ himself would do.

“What I did, I would like to compare to what Jesus did when he went into the temple and overturned the tables of the moneychangers, who were exploiting the people financially in the name of religion. I feel like that’s what the GOP has done to the American people,” he told KPCC.

Ironically, Strong works at the L.A. Department of Mental Health. He acknowledged that he was putting his job at risk with the stunt, and is surprised he wasn’t arrested.

Still, Strong believes that sending officials boxes of feces is necessary for a strong, healthy nation.

“In the long run, if we don’t do stuff like this, what are we going to have left?” he asked, presumably in all seriousness.
