Planned Parenthood In Crisis Mode After New York Times Exposed that It Punished Pregnant Employees

Of all the places to expose Planned Parenthood for wrongdoing, you’d probably never peg the New York Times as one, but a new bombshell report showed that the abortion Goliath is guilty of harassing and punishing employees who were either pregnant or had just given birth.

According to the Gray Lady, a heartbreaking article described how employees at Planned Parenthood that were pregnant wouldn’t be allowed to take lunch breaks or be allowed to rest, despite notes from medical professionals. According to one woman, the amount of pressure the abortion giant was placing on her was threatening the health of her baby.

Last winter, Ms. Hairston told the human-resources department for Planned Parenthood’s clinic in White Plains, N.Y., that her high blood pressure was threatening her pregnancy. She sent the department multiple notes from her nurse recommending that she take frequent breaks.

Managers ignored the notes. They rarely gave her time to rest or to take a lunch break, Ms. Hairston said.

“I had to hold back tears talking to pregnant women, telling them to take care of their pregnancies when I couldn’t take care of mine,” she said. “It made me jealous.”

Employees claimed they were afraid to even announce their pregnancies to their fellow employees over fears that they would be ostracized and mistreated.

According to the New York Times, other feminist-centric businesses like Avon or Natera would push women who had just given birth out of their jobs as they were viewed as being too expensive and bothersome. One Natera employee claimed that she had trained a junior-employee to do her job while she was on maternity leave, then was informed that when she was demoted and would be answering to that junior employee upon her return.

Natera denies any stories against them, claiming that none of their business decisions involving the employees were a result of their pregnancies.

While Natera is denying any discrimination, Planned Parenthood seems to be going into damage control mode. Lena Wen, Planned Parenthood’s president issued a statement attempting to detail her “disappointment” at hearing how these women were treated, and that the problem would be addressed immediately.

“At Planned Parenthood, we do not tolerate discrimination or harassment, and we strongly enforce our non-discrimination and anti-harassment policies,” said Wen. “If we learn about accusations, we move immediately to investigate and address them. For confidentiality reasons, we cannot comment on specific allegations, but make no mistake: if concerns are raised or complaints brought, we investigate immediately and, where necessary, take decisive action.”

Making sure all her bases were covered, Wen claimed that Planned Parenthood would “review, revamp, and strengthen our parental leave policies and ensure a culture that supports pregnant and parenting staff.”

It should come as no surprise that the organization whose entire modus operandi is making abortion a religious sacrament.
