Ignore SJWs, Watch Sports

There is nothing that the social justice virus won’t infect and it shouldn’t be any surprise that it tried to attack the great world of sports. I don’t think I need to talk to you anymore about the adventures of Colin Kaepernick and the movement he started.

Luckily, fans of the NFL weren’t having it and a great mass exodus began bleeding away the NFL’s viewers at such a massive scale that team owners and the league began making rules. Now we have football back, proving that America standing up and telling the woke scolds “no” will go a long way to making sure society stays a pretty decent thing to participate in.

As such, it would appear that the tactic from the social justice left has changed now, and it seems to be “if we can’t take it over, then maybe we can convince people not to watch it.”

As reported by the Daily Wire, TIME magazine writer Sean Gregory believes that watching the NFL promotes head injury, isn’t good for young people to watch, and questions in his article whether or not it’s right or wrong to let his teenage son watch the Super Bowl.

Also, he’s pretty salty about the NFL’s treatment of Kaepernick:

But should I be O.K. with his watching the game? Don’t his eyeballs help support an enterprise that we know can damage its participants? This is on top of the laundry list of other reasons to tune out, like the stain of disturbing NFL domestic-violence incidents. Or the apparent blacklisting of a player, Colin Kaepernick, for a peaceful act of protest. Or a sudden dearth of African-American head coaches: three now, as opposed to seven in 2018. Around 60% of the NFL’s players are black. There are no African-American majority owners.

Don’t watch football because it’s not meeting a racial quota? Should I not watch BET because it doesn’t? Should I not eat at the family-owned Tex-Mex restaurants because the Hispanic family didn’t hire enough black or Asian waiters or allow a trans person to be the restaurant’s manager?

Also, did he not recall how Kaepernick treated the NFL when they tried to give him a job? If he needs a quick reminder, Kaepernick spit in their face, not the other way around.

But I digress.

The attack on sports is happening across the pond, too, as one social-justice-obsessed woman believes that talking about SOCCER altogether should be banned according to the Daily Record:

Chatting about football at work should be banned as it can exclude women, says the head of a bosses’ group.

The Chartered Management Institute’s Ann Francke also believes sport banter is a “gateway” to more laddish culture.

Francke told BBC radio: “It’s easy for it to escalate from VAR

talk and chat to slapping each other on the back and talking about their conquests at the weekend.”

Translated from British, that means that talking about sports may lead men to be men, which in the eye of the SJW/Feminist is the worst thing anyone can possibly be.

The importance of sports can’t be overstated. Fun, healthy competition brought about by hard work, perseverance, and community is one of the greatest bonding agents our society has.

Look at a crowd during a football game. Actual football, not that fall down and pretend I’m injured because someone breathed on me too hard they like to do in Europe.

The crowd is generally united. They’re wearing the same colors, cheering alongside one another, and celebrating as one whenever their team does something good. We collectively shell out millions of dollars in support of our team, and if we can’t make it to the stadium, then we tune in to watch it on television, likely still wearing our team’s colors.

This kind of togetherness is rarely seen in humans and outside of sports, which has only been seen on such a massive scale since WW2.

Sports is filled to the brim with role models, lessons, and experiences that you won’t get anywhere else. It bonds people, even when considered rivals.

Sports are something to treasure and any introduction of politics into them should be dismissed and cast aside immediately. Not that I need to tell you that. It would appear that there’s a stark rejection of people like Kaepernick, Megan Rapinoe, and others despite the mainstream media’s attempts to prop them up.

Politics are divisive by nature, and sports are not. It’s odd that the goal of politics is to bring as many people together as possible, but that they only succeed in bringing out people’s will to destroy each other. Sports are competitive and divide people into teams, but unite more people than they sever.

We should keep that spirit going by ignoring those who would wish to introduce something as divisive as politics into it.
