Petty, Thy name Is Democrat

I can’t be the only one who felt zero surprise at the disgusting way the Democrats acted during the State of the Union speech last night. I fully expected the Democrats to sit stock still, arms folded, with more sneers than a room full of high schoolers competing for “most popular girl.”

Here’s just a list of what we saw last night.

The first and most popular, was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tearing up Trump’s SOTU speech after he was done. As I wrote previously, Pelosi did a lot more than just tear up Trump’s speech, she tore up the celebration of America’s successes, the stories, and the people that were told in it.

Also, quick aside, a lot of clues point to the fact that Pelosi planned to do that even before the speech started. Here she is testing to see if the speech could be ripped before Trump began.

Then there was, as my colleague Bonchie highlighted, the blatant disrespect from Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, who made it a point to ignore Trump, walk out, and post spiteful selfies.

This includes ignoring war heroes like Brig. Gen. Charles McGee of the Tuskegee Airmen or a young black girl who will now have a brighter future thanks to school choice.

Omar and Tlaib both walked out. According to Tlaib, the reason is having been “triggered” by the very mention of Brett Kavanaugh according to The Hill:

“I think, you know, even the mention of Brett Kavanaugh for me is a trigger,” Tlaib said in an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. “Just as a woman in America, the fact that he, you know, rightfully was accused, and having an incredibly strong woman come before the public and the world and tell her story of sexual assault by this person that was appointed to the Supreme Court is just — I couldn’t stand still and not do anything about it, and I needed to walk away from that.”

Right.

It’s hilarious to me that the Crynamic Duo then had the nerve to post a selfie saying “this is what America looks like.”

The GOP released a short video showing you just how the Democrats decided to sit for good news overall, including that for the African American community and its brand-spanking-new low unemployment rate.

For a party that prides itself on being the party of the minority and the party that celebrates diversity, I’m having trouble understanding why they would sit out the celebration of such great news. Isn’t prosperity for the black community, and indeed any minority community, something that the Democrats would feel overjoyed about? This was the end game all along, right?

Actually no.

What Democrats proved last night was what many have been saying all along. It’s not success for the American people that they really crave, it’s the power. As I wrote earlier today, a victory for the American people, or a specific community — it’s not really a good thing unless Democrats or big government had a hand in it.

What they really want you to avoid is any sense that people can pull themselves up and into a better life through hard work and individual sacrifice. There’s no reliance or victimhood in that and reliance and victimhood are the two main exports of the Democratic party. It’s hard to get an individualistic person who built something great to vote for you with temptations based on reliance. It’s even harder when you do this while promising to punish people who have built something great by taking it and giving it to those who would give in to those promises of free this and that.

Democrats are losing that battle to get people more reliant as the unemployment levels drop, especially for those whom they consider a granted voting bloc.

So they sit and pout, make spiteful gestures, and make a show of hatred and nastiness. This isn’t a party of grown adults and professionals, it’s a party of grown children and nasty people with nasty attitudes.

Vote accordingly.
