Hillary Channels Trump on Vetting Immigrants

At the Conservative Review, Chris Pandolfo notes that Hillary Clinton has gone full Donald Trump on the vetting immigrants.

After the FBI identified the suspect in the weekend terrorist bombings in New York and New Jersey, as a naturalized U.S. citizen, who was born in Afghanistan. Hillary acknowledged the threat of terrorism is real, and called for “tough vetting” of immigrants:

“This threat is real, but so is our resolve,” she said. “Americans will not cower. We will prevail.”

Fielding questions from reporters, Clinton said she was in favor of “tough vetting” for America’s immigration system, adding “we need a better visa system.”

Just another part of the problem with Hillary. She has no problem criticizing The Donald for calling for “extreme vetting” of immigrants, at least in connection with his proposal for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States. Or as Trump put it, “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

But even though Hillary bashed Trump for his call for “extreme vetting ” and then called for “tough vetting” she didn’t bother to distinguish her use of tough from Trump’s use of extreme:

I am absolutely in favor of and have long been an advocate for tough vetting, for making sure that we don’t let people into this country — and not just people who come here to settle, but we need a better visa system.

Hillary leaves folks with the impression that because of the weekend terror attacks in Minnesota, New Jersey and New York she thinks she needs to sound as tough as Trump.
