The Great American Miracle

I literally don’t know what to say and am at a loss of words.

I’ve spent the past few weeks working with people on the ground in VA-7 to help Dave Brat turn in a strong showing.  I originally thought the notion of Eric Cantor being vulnerable was a joke, but Dave Brat, a great American patriot, rose to the occasion.  It became clear to me that he would probably crack 45% going into tonight’s election, but the thought of him winning was too tantalizing to even imagine.

The results speak for themselves.  Cantor outspent Brat $993,000 to $76,000 in last seven weeks of the election.  Yet, Brat had enough money, with the help of a small Super PAC and Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck, and Mark Levin, to get out his message.

What was his message?

There are always millions of variables that go into determining the outcome of a race, but this one is unambiguous.  His message was all about fighting against open borders and putting Americans first.  Let me be clear, his campaign was a shoe-string effort.  He is literally a citizen candidate.  Yet, he spoke so clearly to the hearts of voters in central Virginia.

The notion that a guy like Dave could defeat the sitting majority leader in the primary is beyond belief.  And he did so in a landslide with high turnout, not a sneaky low-turnout victory.

As many of you know, the issue of immigration is very dear to my heart and has been for quite a number of years.  Many of us were despairing over what to do with a party that refused to listen to its base.  Our prayers have been answered.

More later.
