In the wake of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Richard Cordray’s announcement that he will stand down before the end of the month, President Trump has been rapidly weighing names of possible replacements.

The front runner, according to multiple news reports, is Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Mick Mulvaney.

Now, a RS Insider source with knowledge of the President’s decision-making has confirmed that the Mulvaney selection is final.

The announcement of Mulvaney’s appointment is expected to be made tomorrow, with Cordray’s exit to follow Wednesday.

Mulvaney will continue his work as OMB Director, simply adding CFPB directorship duties to his current purview.
