I haven’t posted in awhile so hopefully this thing won’t explode. I work in the broadcast trade industry so I’m peripherally attached to the MSM. Somehow I’ve gotten onto the DNC e-mail distribution list. So everyday, sometimes two or three times a day, I get a venomous, bile-filled, nearly fact-free attack on McCain from them. This stuff is Kos-level derangement – but they have a spell check and know how to turn off the Caps Lock. Working late tonight, I was a little cranky when one rolled in – “GOP’s Hypocrisy on Voter Fraud” or something like that. So I snapped, just a little…

It was all about how some schmoe (AKA ‘longtime GOP operative’) out in California was arrested for registering himself twice at a wrong address over the span of a few years or some such piffle. And the guy worked for or knew a firm that did registrations for Republicans so guilt-by-association meant Republicans were “hypocrites” on the whole voter fraud issue. Anyway, the DNC equated this tiny ant with the whole ACORN thing (while not actually mentioning ACORN). So I decided to respond. And it was a truly reasonable response. I pointed out that a guy with a couple of questionable registrations was in no way comparable to the hundreds of thousands of illegal registrations, across over a dozen states that ACORN had done. If they had the NRA or the Christian Coalition doing it then that would be an equal story. And I hinted to them that I was not one of their typical spoon-fed, Obama-loving reporters that they were used to and who parroted whatever talking points they were fed that day. I also let them know that I was more than aware of how the political media game is played (I did it myself for many years) and that I knew that most of their “Counting the Lies” fact checks were mostly bogus because the references used were from in-the-tank media or Democratic front groups. I even poked a little fun at the RNC press operation just to throw him a bone. I then asked, since everything they send out everyday is so over-the-top in its villainy of their political opponents (i.e ‘enemies’), why couldn’t they just once treat their political opponents with an ounce of humanity. Disagree but with a little respect. Did they really think Republicans were practically subhuman? I wound it up with an offer – I’d bet that the GOP would trade that guy’s couple of registrations for the hundreds of thousands of bad ACORNs… after all, aren’t we all for legit registrations? I really was reasonable. I figured I wouldn’t get a response or it would be a “Thank you for your response. Your input is greatly appreciated…” and I’d be removed from the dist list. But no. About an hour later I got a response from a real person. He sent me, get this, a YouTube link to a clip from the Keith Olbermann program from this evening (I think). With a message like “Check this out if you need proof.” And what does Olbie say in the clip? He doesn’t do much more than parrot the very press release I had just railed against. UNBELIEVABLE. This DNC press guy really thought I would be swayed by a TV performer so far in the tank that the opening looks to him to be no bigger than a star in the night sky. And the TV performer was simply repeating what he had been fed by the DNC. Did the DNC press man think I would not notice? Friends, these people have lost all sense of rationality. And they believe the bile they spew. They really don’t think that people who disagree with them are human. They think we are morons. If you’ve ever read Soviet propaganda from the Stalin era or some juicy Nazi screeds, you might get a little nervous at the similarities. Well, that’s my story. Let’s see if I can post thing…
